Yeah well boo-hoo I'm a homosexual and I have a literal closet.

And it's filled with 5 liter boxes of wine.

So yeah, let's not pretend we didn't know it was coming.

There's a rumble under my bed.

Is it the shadow man?
No, I'm re-assured it's vodka bottles.

Will try to stave off that pineapple home-brew (shudder) for as long as possible.

Stay safe Halfordman.

There's a large alcohol black market according to some South Africans I've spoke to.

Yeah and generally "alcohol" and "black market" are two terms you never want to see together.

Not very difficult to ferment something, or water down something stolen from a morgue.

But a lot of things can go wrong making "ethyl alcohol".
And when it does, usually a whole batch of people are affected.

In that sense, I think this prohibition is downright irresponsible.

I can imagine. It didn't work in the US either, just like the War on Drugs has largely failed.

Just one case of a man beaten to death by the SA security forces last year.

Oh, look at the outcome!

Mom all nervous - getting the Covid-jab today.
Dad went for the first shot two weeks ago - seems fine.

Not old enough, but when it's my turn, will I go?

Begrudgingly, but yes I will.

Yup. The worst part of this scamdemic is not the virus itself.

It's government's heavy hand.

And that heavy hand may come back this fall here in North America.

They are priming us now with their double plus good variant from India.

I wouldn't know but it makes sense. Especially when you ascribe to the FDR quote.

In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.

What the funky chicken does alcohol have to do with covid?

According to an interview with a SA official I heard today. alcohol has nothing to do directly with Covid. alcohol abuse by itself is a leading cause of hospitalizations in the country and they fear an over capacity situation. They feel stopping alcohol use will help keep some pressure off of hospitals.

Sounds like they use regular hospitals for rehab, I can't imagine there would be enough alcohol overdoses by themselves that would hit hospitals daily. Useless they lump together alcohol-related injuries etc.

Throwing in the alcohol restriction looks like a social experiment.

yah just like what's her face in Michigan arresting people for conducting regular business.
