I like the truth even from a socialist communist who might speak the truth once in their life. Truth is truth as evidenced by history and facts. Well since there is a big push to rewrite history maybe a second look at history is appropriate in many cases...

Truth is indeed evidenced by history and facts. However, we have a limited range of sources therefore our understanding of the truth has to be limited (a point Saint Augustine made in the fourth century AD).

When new evidence become available, we have to review our understanding. History is never static; our understanding is constantly evolving.

Take the Spanish Civil War. Until the 1970s, there was the official Spanish government line, the oppositional left wing line and a whole bunch of unheard oral history, with academics in the UK and Ireland starting to dig a little further. In the 1990s, the whole thing was turned on its head, with detailed local and oral histories available to all and right wing publishing houses springing up to present new evidence from the fascist archives.

Or the Soviet Union in World War II. In the mid 1990s, the Russians cracked open their military archives to western historians, who dug in like a starving man at a free buffet. When the oligarchs had consolidated their power, the archives closed again and now drip feed stuff that supports the state narrative.

Or Japan in World War II. The Japanese have never opened their archives and there are historians who would sell their soul for even a weekend with a camera and a notebook.

I agree 100%. I still don’t think the op has got that I was referring to the name spelling.

I'm surprised he's not in Alaska by now seeing how ERCOT has asked us Texans to limit electricity use due to the heat and their inability to manage the demands on a system "built for Texas summers, not extreme winters"
