“they do not comply with the equity and inclusion goal of ensuring that all students can participate in every aspect of the curriculum.”
For the same reason they will also end all coaching services for those students who show special skills at hockey, track and field, wrestling and ping pong. “Sports competitions are an especial plague,” said one staff member who demanded to be kept anonymous since everyone would think (he/she) is a total moron, “because in every one of them two or three participants always end up in the winner’s circle, while others are either left in shame at the back of the pack, or worse still have to sit them out in the bleachers cheering on their ‘superiors.’ “
He/she/ze elaborated, “It simply is not fair — and therefore deeply at variance with equity and inclusion goals, which are after all the only true purpose of education — that young people who are already good at some things, who are faster, stronger, quicker than others, are allowed, even giving special training, to get better.”
I may also report the board is having a very hard look at chess clubs and the beady-eyed little brainiacs in them who are always sniping and sneering at the checkers community.
They’ve chopped the math and science honour courses to increase inclusivity. Increase inclusivity by subtraction of what is to be offered. By the logic on offer here, this enlightened board should also be tossing overboard all courses that attend to students who have more difficulty learning than others. Under the sacred injunctions of D. I. E. anything special must go; anything special by definition “excludes.”
“By phasing out these courses, all students will have access to an inclusive model of education, and all students will be able to participate in the curriculum fulsomely.”
If a young Wayne Gretzky were attending a Vancouver school today they’d make him wear a knapsack of cinder blocks while on hockey practice lest he “outperform” other kids and make them feel “excluded.” If Ramanujan (look it up VSB) were there they’d take him out of math class and send him to the gym.
Jesus H Christ, this is beyond retarded, you Canucks are not supposed to look at America every time we do something mind-numbingly stupid & say "Hold my Molson, brah!"

Instead of discovering each child's potential ...
We will play whack a mole and send every student down to the lowest common denominator.
But wait, why don't the parents do something!
Because they too, went down the road of the lowest common denominator.
And so the world turns.
Too many people believe this ...
