So Tinky-Winky was indeed a medic, or as we called them in the SADF, a "tampon tiffie" (because they carried tampons to stick in wounds).

TV for little kids changed about the time I was too old to watch that programming. I watched things like Captain Kangaroo, Bozo the Clown, that era. These were some of the programs that came around after I grew out of little kid shows, the Sid & Marty Krofft type programs.
