So I was compelled to ask what we are really fighting for because I don't think there will be anything left if things continue the way they are.

Didn't we already fight for the corporate interest. Will this be any different?

From what I see on ATS, a lot of members are already "lock and loaded" just waiting for the "go ahead" from God knows who.

I dont fight for lost causes. Every idea runs its course; the ideas and ideals of the Founders have run their course. What comes next is anyone's guess. The goal now is to stay free and out from under the collapse.

And the best way to fight for those things is to fight tooth and nail for States rights!

To me, this is the paramount conclusion. Our sciences began with sticks and stones and evolved from there. Through spears and bows and slings on up the line we can trace our course though history. Sciences always supported by the tribal desire to develop the more effective weapon. One that would give advantage in the fight against those others.

And that got us to August 1945. From that point on the ''human lesson'' not the American lesson or the Japanese lesson or the European lesson or the Russian was displayed to us. That was OUR lesson, the human lesson for all of us. That lesson was ''STOP IT'', all of you just stop it. ''You'' because in that moment we all became ''you'' to a technology and scientific history that mirrored to the entire human race that we could kill off all of us with the push of a few buttons.

And where are we now? Though no more of those bombs have been dropped we continue with the sciences that can and do create means of total destruction on a par the destruction of those bombs.

So while many still chaff at the notion of being included in a large species spanning category that can be called ''US'' it was in that moment that we all, all of us became ''US'' That to me is our fight. Our fight against total self destruction.

I fight for the preservation, continuation, and even the evolution of the concepts and principles elucidated in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

I firmly believe we have the opportunity to build a staggeringly beautiful world using cutting edge technology and the framework so wonderfully put into place at the foundation of the US.

It does seem most either buy completely into total corporate-political control of our tools, information, and tech. Or the inverse; the near absolute rejection and revulsion of "new things" as the source of all of our problems.

I believe there is a different Path and I have spent nearly every moment of every day of the past two decades trying to make and mark that trail.

While I do feel that every social platform monetizes extreme emotions and addiction to them.. They can be used as a framework for something different too. Many seem to be under the impression that nothing can ever truly change, but if history tells us anything its that that is terribly incorrect. In some ways, things can be seen to change as much as they stay the same, but the possibilities are all in the context of the time in question. Plenty also seem to be unwittingly addicted to doom and are determined to bring others down with them.

So, what Im fighting for.. A world that embraces imagination as much as pragmatism. And a world that embraces pulling imagination into reality through science and engineering as a continuous process.

I fight for what I see as the true potential of humanity rather than acting out many of the same Stories over and over.. Just with more advanced tools. And using technology as complementary and supplementary to our interaction with other people and the world around us, rather than the primary driving factor of every waking moment.

Democrats fight for holidays that give federal employees another day off.

But more than that, they fight to segregate us again and blame us for a segregated society while their supporters cheer them on and hate us.

That's a complete and utter lie. Like most "Trump supporters", we don't fight against anything that benefits us no matter what side it comes from. Maybe you can tell me what we've fought against that democrats offered and would have benefitted all sides. Higher taxes? Higher fuel costs? Higher cost of goods? Racial division?

Speaking of resisting simply because someone you don't like said it... Trump tried to make June 19th a holiday and democrats blasted him for it, claimed he was only doing it to get votes. Now Biden does it and suddenly he's a hero.

We (in my opinion) should fight AGAINST oppression, authoritarianism, encroaching government in whatever form it takes.

And fight for the future that belongs to our very young.
The future should always give it's generation something better.
Never worse. If our grand children face tyranny it's our fault
if we don't die trying to stop it. At least they'll know they
we're loved if we do.

Like every boomer has an investment property or two.

To improve the lot of those who come after.

If you spend your life fighting against everything you WILL lose sight of what is important.

The fight becomes the point, not the outcome of the fight. That's activist thinking and we all know that activists don't solve problems. It would hinder their paychecks.

Can't fall into the traps they make for us.

Freedom should be the goal of any fight.

Sometimes the government really does have your best interests at heart, and it really is trying to help you, and sometimes tat authoritarianism is something that would protect you from people who want to take advantage of you or who think that they're better than you.

Lmao how did this get so many stars, and on ATS... this planet truly is doomed.

Interesting to me that you didn't get a single star for this comment

Stars not being a reward, but a nod at least

Sometimes we don't see things exactly the same way, but this:

I've been observing a pattern of ever-increasing willingness to inflict suffering on others since the beginning of the Afghan and Iraq wars. The war propaganda has made people less willing to engage each other in dialog and more willing to fight in the streets.

There's been a total media saturation of dark, depressing, and violent themes. Now the society is being primed to hate each other.

I don't understand how anyone can not see it

Well said. Starred and flagged.

We have to be careful not to become the monsters that the Biden criminal administration wants us to become. But how do you fight dictators hellbent on making everyone whom would dare protest against their communist goals and their indoctrination of American children and minors into becoming sexual beings so these anti-Trumper monsters in power can do whatever they want with children/minors, and with every American and U.S. resident that they are labeling as "domestic terrorists" for daring protest against them?

I know most people are not aware of what really happened in countries like nazi Germany, Cuba, Venezuela, etc, etc. But there were people like us whom attempted to stop "peacefully" socialism/communism and the indoctrination and labeling of all whom dare protest against a dictatorship as "terrorists, seditionists, etc, etc." In the end those people whom resorted to peaceful ends were murdered, or ended up in gulags and indoctrination camps in the millions.

Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself. But as we can see there are many, if not most, in the far-left/anti-Trumpers whom are more than happy into being indoctrinated and labeling their political opponents as "domestic terrorists, inhumane for not wanting open borders, etc."

Ironically the people whom claim that their political opponents, those of us whom are pro-Trump or pro-freedom, are nazis are the ones resorting to the same tactics used by the nazis and every other far left dictatorship the world has ever known.
