Joe Biden gave Vladimir Putin a list of 16 pieces of critical infrastructure that should be off limits to attack, specifically hacking.

I guess it doesn't go without saying. Repeatedly, instead of taking action.

I guess all other infrastructure is OK to hack, Joe?

What a joke.

81 million votes though. Well, until next week.

From CBS News' Twitter

Side note: It boggles my mind when Liberals attack the oil industry... just like every other issue, they are so shortsighted. Where else are they going to get enough lube for the ass#ing they're giving this country?

Ummm. . .so I'm guessing that the next 16 cyber attacks will correlate to the list Biden gave Putin.

So, to summarize, Biden stated, "Here's a list of our weaknesses, which you certainly already knew, but now everyone else knows too."

How long before one or more is "hacked" and taken offline and used a pretext for war, sanctions, etc?

Outstanding idea! I think it has merit!

Now here is how it should have gone down, President of the US to President of Russian federation behind closed doors.

"Oh Mr President I envy your private accounts at locations 123 and 4 as well as your other accounts, just want to let you know we it may be a good idea to move your money before lets say a power system or oil pipeline is hacked again, never know how that may affect the global market".

On this topic, did I miss something? I thought these were just random Russian hackers scamming money. Was there some implication that it was government-backed? I mean we see PLA hacks from China etc. and know that they are govt sponsored, but I didn't catch anything that indicated the pipeline or meat hacks were in any way linked to The Russian govt.

I don't think that they are short sighted at all. Well, the ones ruining the show aren't; they know exactly what they are doing. Long-term, it's economic then social collapse they want to cause

Now, on the other hand, the morons in the street - the ones who paddle their plastic kayaks into the bay to protest petroleum exploration - they are definitely a special kind of stupid.

You're speaking as though you expect something done by the Baiden administration to make sense and have some strategic value.

HA!

Silly you!

I was talking with my son the other day about these cyber attacks, he works with computers, sort of IT specialist. He didn't know too much about those news but he wasn't surprised at all.

He told me to better get used to it because that's how things will be now.

We preppers are analog, but the world isn't. We need a Carrington.

Six months.

We're only six months in.

Three and a half years left.

That's forty two months.

Is there some kind of code in there that will bring some hope?

I look at the sky and all I see are clouds.

No turtles.
No unicorns.
No Disney characters.

But one time I did see the U.S.S. Enterprise. I was in such shock I didn't think to grab my potato.

Forty two months.

R.I.P. U.S.A.

Wait until Kamala takes the reigns.

We're taking this clown show on the road, a European tour, a flight around the world on a jet airliner that will bomb droplets of Y chromosome killing nano bots and within a years time Old Glory will have pink and green stripes and instead of stars on blue it'll be penii on menstrual blood, the eagle will be replaced with a flamingo, and trucks will only be driven by women and men will be required to wear skirts at work.

What Constitution?
What Bill of Rights?
What God given rights?
What God?

The Democrats have plenty of eraser left.

And the full support of every alphabet agency.

The idiot wanted to team up with Putin on cyber security. What a puss he was that day in Helsinki. Makes me chuckle to think on it.

So your telling me that there's an American out there sharing HONEST intelligence?
What if he just gave Putin 16 honeypots?
Or 16 infrastructural objects that expect and explore Russian hacks?
16 infrastructures that don't really matter?
Or 16 infrastructures that from now on exist just for the sake of getting hacked by Russia...but aren't in actual use.

Who is to say that Joe is handing out the truth about anything to anybody?
He is still playing a game with an old intelligence officer (that Putin is!).
Why would not so sleepy Joe do that?

As someone who is a cyber security consultant, this has been happening for a long time, companies didn't always have a duty to disclose. Regulations are changing as well as company policies that require entities to disclose a breach. For the business it looks better to the public to voluntarily disclose and show that they're taking the appropriate steps.

Now on to the president...I would hope he knows that Russia is well aware of our weak spots, just as China, Iran, NK, several South American countries, and anyone that's been to a security conference in the last decade is aware. It's not a matter of if, but when it happens how we react to the attacks.

Either way I've got job security if nothing else.

Biden didn't give Putin a list of 16 specific buildings not to hack.

He gave him a list of what the US considers "critical infrastructure," and told him they're "off limits."

i.e. the power grid, water treatment, etc...

It wasn't "intelligence."

It was quite the opposite, in fact.

That's like telling the guy you're currently at war with, "Come on man, we shouldn't attack these 16 things that would end the war right this minute."
