Battlefield 2042! Is going to be MASSIVE and INSANE!!! (release date: Oct. 2021)

If you haven't seen the reveal trailer OR the gameplay trailers yet, watch them (below) ASAP! The game is going to be insane. 7 maps total, but 128-person (64 vs 64) servers! Using the next gen Frostbite engine. No single-player/Campaign mode, strictly Multiplayer this time. The game will appeal to newcomers and BF veterans alike.

After the dumpster fires that were Hardline, 1 and 5...
This is going to be a welcome breath of fresh air to fans of the series.
I've been playing since 3 dropped, and have been playing BF4 on and off for 7 years.
It it's STILL the best in the franchise and 2042 is essentially 4 part 2.

Gotta agree with you there--wasn't a huge fan of those 3 games either. I've been playing Battlefield since BF2 in 2005, so I've seen good and bad Battlefield games over the years. And this one right here, is going to be an exceptionally GOOD Battlefield game, I can tell.

Meh if i wanted to play battlefield i would just install 3 or 4 and it would be the same game. Escape From Tarkov however, that horror game + stock market simulator will get your heart pumping ^^

Still think the last decent FattleBield game was 2142... that was fun, them mechs, Tanks, the Voss and Krylov

It looks alright , i promised myself not to buy this one , was not a big fan of the previous 2142.

Good to see they not going all out with futuristic stuff.

I am slightly in favor now.

Battlefield 1 and 5 were both good. Not sure why people thought they were horrible. 5 had arguably the best gunplay mechanics. 1 had really nailed a vibe down and i thought the maps were great.

You can see DICE improving elements of the game through each title. With the exception of customization in 1 & 5 being pretty bad.

Now that its back to a modernish era, im sure this will be the best battlefield in the series.

Unless they go VR, I'm out.

Im a huge BF fan.
However, I never was one for BFs single player.
Call of Duty always had an awesome single player campaign.
But I can’t stand CODs MP.
So I would always pick up the cod just for the campaign play. And all my MP play was on Battlefield.

I’m just hoping the launch goes smoothly.
BF V was pretty much just a Reskin of BF4.
It took BF4 damn near a year to be playable on console without having to worry about frequent crashes.

BF4 was a new vision they had with their “levelutions”
I’m just hoping that since this isn’t just a reskin, that the game is playable day one.

That said, I’m really looking forward to this one, and will be throwing my money at for day one game play.
But I’ll never preorder a game again.

Omfg I forgot all about that disaster, Hardline.

Damn I'm old used to love playing Battlefield 1942 when it first came out got all the expansion packs etc. Even got Battlefield Vietnam and enjoyed it too, though not as much as the original.

While I do enjoy multi-player would prefer having a single-player campaign too.

All i can hope for is an anti-cheat and/or dedicated server.

I never moved on from BF2 tbh. BF3 made me give up on the franchise.

A couple of years ago I saw battlefield 4 on an all but free deal so I tried it but the community seemed pretty dead to a new player. It didn't feel the same anymore.

Maybe I'm just an old nostalgic prick.

Let's hope this game is something special.
