Bill Gates is the largest private owner of farmland in America.

From Business Insider

Addressed already, in this thread and a previous one.

That should speed up the exodus of Oregon counties that want to join UTAH.

IDAHO. Some morons think they can split from Oregon and join IDAHO not UTAH.

Oregon doesn't even have a border with Utah for crying out loud (well, it does touch a corner).

Oops, yeah it is Idaho, I messed up with the state. I got Utah stuck in my head for some crazy reason. My Son in law worked for a company out of Utah and I got used to talking about that.

I don’t need to interpret it, the language is clear enough just like the Forbes article I linked. Yet there are those who deny the facts even so. The divorce might change things but that’s likely on purpose, not a genuine break up.

Bill Gates is America's biggest private owner of farmland, and his 242,000 acres could be split in his divorce.

So..it's less than .03% of farmland..I'm not going to light my hair on fire over it. The headlines make it sound so ominous but with context, it's a meh!

Time to ban Oregon from the rest of the country.
Of course we will give the normal people 72 hours to get out.

You do realize that this isn't something that's been proposed seriously by lawmakers with the intention of it passing, it's a blue sky ballot initiative that's not going to gain sufficient support to pass.

Oregon lawmakers may not be proposing something like this, but you really don't want to give them any ideas. They are bad enough already.

Um, the last page, he owns 240-260 thousand acres. The amount of farmland is around 900,000,000 acres..do the math..this isn't rocket science.

He’s still the largest single stake holder which is my point. The next largest is a family owned business with 190,00 acres. Bill Gates with no farming background owns approx 60k more than the next farming business.
