A short while ago I read someone who said that US citizens:
who believe the USA is a basically good country
who believe that the vast majority of US citizens are good people
who believe that Americans are trying to make things better for everyone
who think the flag is something to be proud of
who believe the country was founded with good intentions and ideas
who believe in a constitution that restricts what government can do to the people
are now THE underground rebels in the US.

I am seeing this sentiment more and more across the social media platforms.

Is now being proud of the nation
proud to be a US citizen
believing the vast majority of US citizens are NOT racist, sexist, homophobic etc
a subversive and socially unacceptable way to think in the US
according to those who hold the most power in the US (Presidency/Congress/1/2 the Senate)?

These ideas were brought home to me when I ran across this video
that apparently is blowing up the internet.
The idea that being a conservative and believing most
people are basically good is a rebellious and now
politically unacceptable and inflammatory idea.
I don't even normally care for rap.
I like spoken word, like that of Brandon Leake
However, this is the very first rap song that got my attention
and really spoke to me as the truth.

youtu.be...

What say you?

Is thinking that the majority of US citizens and the nation itself are basically good and doing the best they can to follow the precept of the constitution that all people are created equal now subversive ideas?

Thinking the most radical idea of all that the vast majority of adults are capable of running their own lives and making their own decisions without government nanny supervision radical ideas?

Are people who think like this the new underground subversive rebels?

If one were to judge from things like local & state voting statistics, politician/DC approval, and even covid compliance stats, then no, very likely not the case.
The media can try all they want, but most folks have enough common sense overlap between parties to be a begrudging quiet majority, not a rebel minority. The minority here consists of the state-sponsored terrorist groups and their idiot fan clubs.

The problem is, they inundate. They don't have enough numbers to actually do much, so they crank the volume and intimidation. Don't let it fool you.

I don't care if he is Canadian.

He spoke to me and I see his sentiment as very applicable to the US and to the sentiment that I have been seeing that the ideas he expresses are now considered revolutionary.

Did you watch it? It is explosively revolutionary in this day and age.

Thinking of oneself a revolutionary has a great appeal to many folk. The Vanguard. The point at the tip of the spear of freedom. The first in the charge against tyranny and oppression. Great stuff of folk lore. Great stuff in a modern world of mind numbing meaninglessness.

It has been suggested that our ''problems'' stem from government yet that seems the simplest and most easily recognizable focal point for our angst ridden citizenry. It is also suggested that the real problem is the take over of our entire economic system by massive corporations that are no longer ''national'' corporations but rather ''international corporations''. They, along with the faces of those few owners of those monstrosities a another ''easy target'' for blame.

I think it runs much deeper. Much deeper. The old cartoon strip "Pogo'' coined that wonderful phrase, '' We have met the enemy and they are us''

In general I can sum this up no better than Alan Parsons Project in ''Children of the Moon''

Pay no attention to the writing on the wall
The words seem empty, 'cause there's nothing there at all
We let the wise men beat the drums too soon
We were just children of the moon
No one to turn to
Nowhere to run to even if we could

Too late to save us, but try to understand
The seas were empty, there was hunger in the land
We let the blind man lead the way too long
Easy to see where we went wrong
Nothing to live for
Nothing to die for

We're lost in the middle of a hopeless world
Lost in the middle of a hopeless world
Children, children of the moon
Watch the world go by
Children, children of the moon
Are hiding from the sun and the sky
Children, children of the moon
Watch it all go by
Children, children of the moon
Are blinded by the light in their eyes
No one to turn to
Nowhere to run to even if we could

Follow the pilgrim to the temple of the dawn
The altar's empty and the sacrifice is gone
We let the madmen write the golden rules
We were no more than mortal fools
Nothing to live for
Nothing to die for
We're lost in the middle of a hopeless world
Lost in the middle of a hopeless world
Children, children of the moon
Watch the world go by
Children, children of the moon
Hiding from the sky

Ok, but what of the basic question at hand instead of off topic thread drifting.

Do you think that people who believe the best of their fellow human beings
and believe in conservative ideas,
like adults are capable of running their own lives,
and most people in the US are not racist/sexist/ist/ism etc,
people of faith are NOT mostly monsters out to judge others,
the new underground subversive rebels of the day?

True, they are becoming speech bullies and thought police for sure.

Doxing, getting fired, bullying anyone who dares to believe the best about people rather than the worst, so that a nanny government is the only answer because most people are downright evil to the core racists/sexists/ist/ism, etc. and have to be strictly reigned in for their own protection.

I know, right?

Left leaning folk are shooting congressman, Trump supporters (75 million of them) all went to the capitol and smashed things. (amazing how they all fit in that little space)

But when the left gets violent first, whataboutism is all that's left. Survival of the fittest. Hope the right doesn't shoot back. (they have more gunz)

Here is the new American hero according to the current political party in control of the nation:

Just the opposite and as stupid an over-generalization about millions upon millions of US citizens, as the one you made.

That cop must have been whacking himself in the head on the bottom video. Neat trick how he got the bearded cretin to whack him with a flag while laying on the ground.
