Is this proof the Jan 6th "incident" was a riot not an Insurrection?

An insurrection without firearms = The weakest insurrection ever. And we are talking about us gun toting republicans, yet not a single gun was used except by the capitol police officer who shot an unarmed woman in the neck.

Like the Bundys indeed. Who were prosecuted (shot and killed in one instance), but exonnerated by a jury of their peers.

It was a protest which evolved into a small riot type event. If there had been even twenty more cops guarding the capitol building entrance, it would not have turned into what it did. Why didn't they have more guards on duty, they knew it was going to be a protest day there. Now all those National guards they brought in afterwards, that was a waste of money, maybe a thousand national guards would have been plenty in DC for the inauguration event.

I call it neither a riot nor insurrection, but a reminder as to exactly who works for whom and how easily and quickly things can be altered. Had the people been armed and vindictively violent as often seen in other countries like France and the U.K., that would have been all she wrote for the sitting government. They would have been evicted from office peacefully or removed by force if necessary.

Next time there might not be a reminder as to where the true power rests. And that is exactly what pisses them off most of all.

How true Those fragile little things can't stand knowing how powerless they truly are.

Its good for government to fear the people. Plenty of reasons. About 400,000,000 good reasons, too.

I believe it merely speaks for the urgent need to dissolve the Union. Look at Yugoslavia, worked out great for them. We may still be forced to somewhat cooperate militarily, but I believe a sufficient nuclear arsenal could be maintained to ensure deterrence.

Both parties probably opted for a legal exit of sorts. The defendant might have avoided more severe charges further down the road, and the prosecution secured a lawful admission of guilt from Paul Hodkins. It is all too easy to read too much into a situation, and I sometimes do that in real life.

I guess we can call it a riot...3 hour one...everyone went home at 6:00 curfew...got their selfies...followed the directions of the police and guide ropes inside...priceless art work never touched etc...no weapons...many were older people...
