She is probably right, in some way. When prisons are built, especially private ones..they need filling. You probably have too many laws, that helps with the filling. I don't see how it reduces violent crime though.

AOC has proven once again that she is a political hack, that will use everything she can for political gain. not to mention she is a moron.

the fact that the house is in such good shape, puts it far down on the list to be dealt with. people with more critical needs come first. such as the many more who no longer had a house. a roof that needs work is about the last thing to be dealt with.

rebuilding after a devastating storm literally takes YEARS to do. i have actually helped build a house about five years after such a storm (along with a devastating earthquake right before it). i saw that many people were still waiting to have homes built and living in tents and broken buildings. one friend i made there finally had their house built about 7 years after. and these were people who completely lost their home not "the roof needed some work". something that the person should have fixed on their own. especially when one has a granddaughter getting paid a six digit government salary who could easily pay for it.

this also shows AOC's disconnect from reality. and how she views the role of government. the fact that she feels such minor damage is up to the government to fix, even when the person can easily afford the needed work just proves she is unfit for office in anything but a communist country.
