Masked and Alone

One word that trumps all of the other excuses and explanations ...

STUPIDITY!

Unfortunately there are folks that do that. My grandma being one, she’s 73. After a flu vaccine a few years back she had a heart attack and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She blames the flu vaccine.

She’s terrified of dying from Covid and now she’s terrified of the vaccine and refuses. She will live in fear the rest of her days behind a mask. oh and yess my grandma is a little on the nuts side..

people doing strange things from time to time. someone wearing a mask inside a car isnt breaking news.

I'm not sure why this gets people so riled up. Do you honestly think someone is scared in their car while alone? Really? Most likely they forgot they were even wearing it. Most people are not among those claiming that they can't breathe, hyperventilate, etc while wearing one. It's also possible they are going somewhere else close by and again as wearing it does not upset them, so they just keep it on.

I crack up all the time, my daughter works at a meat processing facility. Because she has to go on the floor for things during the day she always wore a hairnet and mask. She came home from buying a new car still wearing her hairnet and mask. I was cracking up, she just forgets she even has it on.

The fake outrage or the "gotcha" stuff here is pretty amusing.

Gotta say, never really thought too much about people wearing masks alone. Except this one time, some guy came past me one day when i was outside near work, i was unmasked, he was unmasked, he walked right past me, waved and said hi, walked towards his truck, put his mask on, then got in alone and drove away.

That one just seemed so pointless.

Two thoughts here...
1. Who cares what the afraid do themselves so long as they leave those of us who like fresh air TF alone? Adopting this attitude has been very mentally healing for me. I don't wear a mask, I also could care less if every other person I encounter is wearing one... it simply doesn't matter to me (neither does the opinion of the masked about my rejection of wearing one matter to me,)
2. It is allergy season in the Northern Hemisphere. My wife suffers from pretty bad allergies and sometimes wears a paint mask even in the car. Again, does it matter?

So....what do we do with all the cloth masks now that the Covid is over?


My thought is patchwork coats for the homeless. Maybe patchwork blankets as well. Come on....reduce, reuse, recycle?

I know a woman that wears her mask when she doesn't have to (if you are vaccinated at my place of work, no mask needed) because she figured out that it hides her wrinkled face.
Vanity, in her case, is the explanation.

People wearing masks is none of your goddamn business. Just like if you prefer not to wear one, it's none of their goddamn business.

Not really, no.

Mask or no mask, it's up to the individual--with the exception being some workplaces.

My workplace just recently, within the last two days, has gone mask free if you've been stabbed. If you haven't, masks still required.

They're not asking if you've been stabbed--they can't--but if you're discovered not wearing and it's discovered you've not been stabbed...

Well...bad things happen. Least of which is a major write up.

I've not been stabbed, nor do I intend to be any time soon...so I'll continue to wear the damned thing-though as little as possible, since it's been well over two months, almost three, since my work place has had a case of the Covid. Not that we had many to begin with--even at the peak of Doomsday, we had a grand total of 8, out of a crew of nearly 500.

Well, that explains a lot. Personally, I say the government can ingest a truckload of Richards and leave me alone... Isn't it interesting that the Left, the party that just 50 years ago was all about showing those middle fingers to the establishment, became the establishment's bitches and the Right ended up being the new rebels?

Seriously...Why?

Possibilities:

She had garlic pasta for lunch and doesn't want the experience to end.
She had collagen injections in her lips that went horribly wrong.
She's worn it so long that she forgets it is on.
She's performing a psych experiment to see how others react to her wearing a mask.
She believes the governor in her engine told her to wear a mask at all times.
