Harris confused about how border issue is on her.

Vice President Kamala Harris is frustrated by her border role being "mischaracterized" by Republicans and some media outlets, CNN reported Tuesday, saying Harris was not in charge of stemming border crossings themselves but rather "root causes" of migration.

CNN's Natasha Bertrand said there was a "lot of confusion" around Harris' role when President Biden put her in charge of the border crisis in March.

"Republicans kind of seized on that confusion, and they made it seem as though Vice President Harris was going to be the new border czar," she said. "That she was going to be responsible and be the envoy to the border, be responsible essentially for all of the problems that arise there.

The problem isn't that she is responsible for it, it's that she isn't doing anything about it, and it seems nobody else is either.
Joe caused the problems by reversing most of Trump's border policies. It's not a mystery, but it is something that the left is trying to gaslight away.
They keep blaming Trump for the problems, but actually Trump's policies had secured the border, and the data on that is unequivocal. Plus, how can you be blamed for something the next guy did away with, it's comically stupid.

Harris may not understand her role at the border, but it's way past time someone figure out who is going to be on point there, and they need to understand the term "open border" as opposed to "closed border", as of right now, the border is open. It needs to be closed.

I'd love to have some good news and good things Biden did to report on, as bashing Biden means that things aren't going well. I live here, and I'd like things to go back to doing well.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've heard it attributed to her.

I would be fascinated to learn where she is going with this, and how in the end she will circle it around to the inexorable destination of every point she makes, being White Man Bad.

A root cause is the US being generally better than where the migrants are from, or better than other places to migrate to.

I think the liberal search for the "root cause" of immigration issue is being looked for in the wrong place... externally, where there is actually very little the US can do about it.

Anyone that has ever been involved in a transportation, industrial, or medical incident investigation knows a Root Cause Analysis is a lengthy, in depth process. Outside of a thorough understanding of an incident/issue and the causal factors, corrective actions are the critical product... what to do to fully prevent, significantly reduce, and/or mitigate damage if it does occur. One key to a quality corrective action is "is it something we can control/do independently?" We cannot independently fix the external "why's" of someone coming here.

So what can we fix independently?

I suspect a big root cause for people coming is the base level of Maslow's Hierarchy. Food, water, shelter, security, the basics needed to exist. Where in the western hemisphere has porous borders and pretty much gives that away for free to illegal immigrants? The United States!

What corrective action can we take independently to address a likely root cause of staggering illegal immigration? (Fill in the blank).

Make it harder to get here. Make it less hospitable if they make it. If caught, IMMEDIATE return and an austere (but meeting minimum requirements of being humane) environment while they wait to get sent home.

We can control the United States being seen as the Disney Land of illegal immigration. Our "leaders" are too weak willed to actually do it.

The entire border bulls#t is just another Democrat ruse.

They'll end up giving billions to those foreign leaders and simple say the border "crossings" are lower all while 1000s a day go "undetected" as the Cartels are being tipped off where to send the "crossers" and the smuggling points🤣🤣
