So the other night, I'm having one of my "lonesome" parties.

I say "lonesome" conditionally, because I had company on ATS, I mean i was physically alone.

Perhaps that's not a bad place to be in a pandemic.

So the next afternoon I suddenly remembered, I had these avo and cheese tacos.
So I take the stryrofom take-way-box out of the fridge and put it in the microwave.

Flip next thing in the oven there's thunder and lighting, and the box is on fire!

Halt! Stop the procedure.

Luckily I stopped it immediately (and didn't go pee or something).

Out the oven and on the table, and water on the flames!

Turns out they wrapped the tacos in tin-foil, and then put them in the box.

I told them: "Write it on the box. You're gonna kill somebody"!

Well that was my educational little story.

Thanks for the laugh! It wasn't schadenfreude but rather from similar shock moments that I can laugh about today.

Who puts takeout in the microwave without checking for foil?

Not to get religious, but our lives in this material coil are so fragile.

Always something out to get us.

And it's going to happen sooner or later.

Just a breadcrumb down the wrong hatch ...

Thanks for the story.
Before microwaving, I always remove the tinfoil taco wrap and make it into a hat before any ATS visit.

I'm just going to stay here and not move until I perish.

Yip, it's the safest way to be.

Gets a tad boring though, say could anyone pass me my wine, and a smoke?

You should not be near microwaves , stove tops , children , or automobiles .

Who doesn't check the wrapping ?

Maybe, at least with automobiles you need a license.

Yet, any old idiot can use a microwave.

Perhaps it's time microwave-users were licensed by the government.

Toaster Oven

Sure, it takes a few minutes longer, but it's well worth it.

Also, you put styrofoam in the microwave? I thought it melted, and released hazardous chemicals.

I have never had a takeout taco or burrito wrapped in anything but paper. Who doesn't know that? See what I did there?

Freeze mofos ... we found three marijuana pips and a microwave with an unlicensed owner.

This bust was so worth it!

OK, I've seen all these YouTube clips about the hidden killers in Victorian or even post-war homes.
For Example:

How frightful for our ancestors.

But did you ever consider, one day they will look back at 2021, and say, "Flip, that was so dangerous"!

Yeah, and it is.

That's why we have "Coffee is hot" written on the outside of a coffee cup--because people are too stupid to take responsibility for themselves. It's not their fault you were negligent. It's your responsibility.

Speaking of hidden killers. Back when I was in HS I went to an old church for an extracurricular activity. When I was there someone mentioned there was an old PA system for the church in a box mounted on the wall of the room we were in. So being curious and in electronics in HS I got up there and looked. And this old vacuum tube PA turned out to still be running.
And probably had been running for years. If not decades.

So I told them about it and turned it off. If nothing else I probably saved them $10-$20 a month on electricity.
