A launch attempt by space startup Rocket Lab ELECTRON rocket ended in failure today. Launch #20, named RUNNING OUT OF TOES" (Rocket Lab names its launches with Whimsical names) started out normal. At Booster cutoff the first stage separated and the 2 stage sustainer began to fire. Footage from a camera on the first stage booster showed the 2nd stage veering to the right. The 2nd stage shutdown and telemetry was lost shortly after .

The payload of 2 earth sensing satellites for Black Sky were lost

Rocket lab lost an earlier launch , #13 named "Pics or it Didn't Happen" , also experienced a problem shortly after 2 stage ignition
It was traced to a failure in an electrical connection

That's rough, they lost the two satellite payload for Blacksky.

Two space startups took a hit (rocket labs and Blacksky), both companies are going public via SPAC. All SPACs have taken a hit in the past few months, so this is bearish news for both companies (in the short term).
