Deep breath

Well, here we go.

My fiance and I have been engaged since August of 2020 and had never set a date. I have always felt that being married is in the heart, not on a piece of paper, so for quite a while now, I have referred to her as my wife.

I got off work yesterday and...you know when something just clicks in your head and you make a firm decision ?....that happened while I was at work.

I came home and she was outside working with the flowers and I said "Go get a shower, we're going to the courthouse"
She asked "what for" and I said "marriage license"
She practically ran for the door.

So [ deep breath ] tomorrow morning at 9:00 , I get to legally call this lovely woman my wife.

Ya know, actually I am.

The weird thing is, I have no idea what she sees in me. She is a very accomplished professional. She has been an RN for over 25 years, she's 10 years younger than me and has a list of qualifications as long as your arm. She can work ER, MedSurg, ICU, Pediatrics, is qualified to administer chemo and radiation and the list goes on.

I'm a retired coal miner.

But in all seriousness, congratulations! I married my best friend 31 years ago. I wore her down and now she only tries to escape a few times a month. Good times.

I'm on mine, which has lasted 3 times as long as the first one. While we cannot work on a project together, we still hug and tell each other we love each other every morning before work.
We know our limits. LOL

But I love him more now than when I married him, and I hope that happens for the two of you!

Her future, her happiness, her security and her completeness of being.

As you already know hence why you're finalising the union.......you are very very lucky to have found real love.

Wish you both eternal happiness and a long life together.

Ps the way you describe her and talk about her, shows just how lucky she is too.

One bit of advice, the words "yes dear" will save you every time. Accept that you won't win an argument, no matter how correct you believe yourself to be.
