China emitted more greenhouse gases in 2019 than all of the world's other developed nations

But they are developing, so they need it.

The Volcano in Iceland has, in 1 week, undone the last 5 years of cutting emissions world wide.

We mere humans cannot compete with Volcanoes.

The Earth Goddess or whatever has decided CO2 is going up. The plant life on this world are having a party.

Judge not the plants. They need their CO2 ... and if they don't get enough then you will die when you run out of food.

Leave the plants alone. Live and let live.

There's a video from an Australian scientist that says that, but that was minor compared to Mount Pinatubo, that's threw out more "pollution" that humans have since they lit a fire, hundreds of thousands of years. And it's still rolling.

Your just wrong according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the world's volcanoes, both on land and undersea, generate about 200 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, while our automotive and industrial activities cause some 24 billion tons of CO2 emissions every year worldwide.

We by far put more co2 into the atmosphere than volcanos.

China's anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions are about 30 percent of the world's total -- that we now of. China has pledged to cut its coal-based pollution, yet plans to build hundreds of additional coal-fired power plants. It's also funding coal-fired plants in developing nations. Under the terms of the brilliant Paris Agreement, China and India don't even have to begin reducing their emissions until 2030. Those two emit 35-37 percent of all the world's greenhouse gases.

Here's an excerpt from a Reuters story in February that shows just how sincere China is about reducing its air pollution:

China put 38.4 gigawatts (GW) of new coal-fired power capacity into operation in 2020, according to new international research, more than three times the amount built elsewhere around the world and potentially undermining its short-term climate goals.

The country won praise last year after President Xi Jinping pledged to make the country “carbon neutral” by 2060. But regulators have since come under fire for failing to properly control the coal power sector, a major source of climate-warming greenhouse gas.

Excerpt from late April CNBC story:

“Because renewable energy (sources such as) wind and solar power are intermittent and unstable, we must rely on a stable power source,” said Su Wei, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission. “We have no other choice. For a period of time, we may need to use coal power as a point of flexible adjustment.”

The per capita argument is BS and dishonest. It doesn't negate the fact that as a whole that country produces more waste than the next three top polluters.

The fact that China is about the size of US plus an extra Texas yet has roughly 4.25 the population of the US.

They have 26.32 million people living in Shanghai. Shanghai is about the same size as Delaware, which has an official population of 989,948 people.

China as far as livable kand goes is really only like less than half of Chinas actual landmass. A good chunk of that country is mostly the mountain area of the Tibetan Plateau in the west, and the desert areas in the north consisting of the Gobi Desert and Takla Makan Desert.

Most of the Chinese people are packed in the east/south-east region of China.

If you ask me maybe they need a bit of the depop agenda. It really puts a perspective on why they are trying to expand. They are too packed. China is a powder keg and that is likely why they crack down so hard on protests.

China depop is going well, that was another "benefit" of releasing COVID, they could kill off their older and unproductive population while at the same time bring the US to our economic knees.

If we and the rest of the world stopped relying on them to make us cheap products, we could probably reduce most of that pollution.

We can't serve two masters.

Astute, although I would say the US gov as a whole could have had some balls and said we're going to weather through this and not shut down the economy and kill businesses. But hell they're just as bad for not letting a crises go wasted in setting up the incoming favored presidential administration to look good.

Well our govt probably had the same idea as china, what better way to get all those Social Security users to an early grave? I mean, now that's how you make fast cuts to Social Security without actually having to make actual cuts, just cut to the point.

Just how do you measure these things.

Has the USGS ever told you how they measure the output of a Volcano.

The Government lie to you constantly and USGS is no exception.

So ... show me how they arrived at that opinion.

BTW a little reading comprehension would go a long way. Re-read what I wrote and see if you cqan find out what I did in fact say! Read it again Grasshopper.

How about the amount of plastics Asia in general dump into the oceans every year. China is still building like 100 coal power plants in the next 30 years too, but I'm sure our paper bag, paper straws will over come all that.

volcanoes is what causes ice ages lol... The mini ice age we were in for like 500+ years that we finally got out of around 1850 was mainly caused by 3 very big volcanoes around 1300 AD.

China is larger than all other first world nations put together. 1 in 6 of the world's population is Chinese. So it stands to reason that they produce a lot of pollution.
