DEW attack in Canneto di Caronia?

Given all the recent hullabaloo about claims of 'directe d energy weapon' attacks in Washington then really was put in mind of a great 2008 thread by Internos concerning anomalies in the Sicilian seaside village of Canneto di Caronia.

After a spate of over 300 unexplained fires at the end of 2003 (spontaneous combustion of electrical goods, beds, sofas etc.) the National Government deployed an investigative task force who evacuated the residents and then began constant 24 hour monitoring with specialist equipment.

In the vid below the head of the team Francesco Venerando explains how they discovered that USB drives and computers were malfunctioning; cars were locking and unlocking on their own and that compasses didn't work (wherever you put them).

The team also discovered massive, repeated pulses of electromagnetic energy (which they concluded they were not caused by natural events) and speculated that the intense EM bursts were responsible for generating the fires and perhaps part of some kind of secret military experiment.

Just as the team's data was suggesting the origin of these bursts were coming from off the coast 'in the ocean' their investigation was abruptly shut down by the Italian Government.

Since January 2004, something of very strange is happening to Canneto di Caronia, a small town located in Sicily, Italy.
Here's a quick list of the unexplained phenomena occurred so far in Canneto di Caronia: all stuff witnessed, reported, observed, caught on camera etc..


UFO sightings

TV, refrigerators, washing machines, mixers etc. that switch on by themselves.

Cell phones charging their batteries spontaneously, even when unplugged.

Boats, Cables, beds, sofas, chairs, cookers, vacuum cleaner, TV, refrigerators, washing machines, cables catching fire spontaneously, even when unplugged.

Air conditioners literally melting spontaneously

Car glasses imploding

Car glasses found with small, perfectly rounded holes, as being hit by some invisible bullets

Aubergines coloured like rainbows

Plants burst into flames selectively, on a squared area

Unexplained magnetic fields peaks detected

Pen drives getting erased spontaneously

Compasses … loosing their orientation

Automatic gates opening and closing randomly

Car alarms ringing with no reason, and randomly

Mysterious death of animals, both from ground and sea

UFOs and the Mystery of Canneto di Caronia

Could be nothing but turns out that the U.S. Naval 6th Fleet regularly performed their exercises in the seas north of Canneto di Caronia and there's an article below which suggests the activity was ongoing up until the summer of 2014.

Mysterious Spontaneous Combustions Return to Sicilian City

In 2007, an Italian newspaper published a leaked government report which blamed the fires on “aliens” because they were “caused by high power electromagnetic emissions which were not man-made and reached a power of between 12 and 15 gigawatts.”

And now the spontaneous combustions are back again and increasing in frequency. Starting in late summer 2014, residents reported unexplained fires in furniture, stacks of folded clothes and a car. As a result, the poor citizens of Canneto di Caronia have been evacuated again while firefighters put out blazes and look again for causes.

This time, suggestions include UFOs, a Tesla-type Magnifying Transmitter, ghosts or evil spirits or even a troubled young person who is pyrokinetic. Sicily’s council member for health and safety Vittorio Alfieri thinks the cause is “an entity” that transfers “from one house to another.”

I’ve always been particularly fascinated by this case. And similarly, I’ve always believed that the most likely cause of the fires had to be the nearby military testing some high technology weapon, possibly directed energy.

I mean:

For example, if the R.E. Ginna reactor operates at 581 MW capacity for 24 hours, it will generate 13,934 megawatthours (MWh).

I was about to bring in the Italy/Sicily connection when I read the first sentences. Some things are off in that article.

First, if it's power then the unit of time needs to be attached. So this would be 12-15 GW/h or any other reference of time. 12-15GW/h is very very very much. How do they know it's not man made? They don't know if it's man made or not, this seems to be a conclusion drawn from the huge amount of power measured.

I would like to see the math they did to arrive at these numbers. This doesn't resonate with what I know about magnetic fields, but then I know very little. The rate of change is what does the work, not the field strength.

How did they measure that field strength, the rate of change, how much cubic space was measured with how many sensor, how was it done, so much questions.

Very bizarre goings on mate and it's certainly one possible explanation although it's well worth reading through the entire thread by Internos exploring the UFO aspect.

Lots of very strange eyewitness reports (including spheres of light coming out the sea) and although the 12 part National RAI News vids have been taken down there are still the partial imterview transcripts with the officials.

At this point, the secretary of CUN reveals that “40% of UFO sightings reported to us, took place in the area of Caronia, in a very narrow range.
He also add that in general, the appearance of the objects both spotted and photographed is spherical, or semi-spherical, while the witnesses report that their movement is apparently intelligent..


Question to the coordinator of the task-force: “Are all these phenomena confirmed? Did you make some assessment on their reality?” answer: “We applied a criteria: we considered all the cases that were related to that specific type of cause (strong electromagnetic impulse): now, it’s hard to say whether there’s some case that has nothing to do with the “main cause” (i.e. some guy who deliberately burst something), but the majority if not the totality is related. Besides, there’s the UFO facet: I CONFIRM that we have in our hands a remarkable, significant amount of documentation, witness, photographs, videos about UFOs.

It's not just the article mate, in the main video featuring the interview with lead investigator Francesco Venerando the 15 GW figure is also mentioned.

Apparently hundreds of explosive bursts of E.M. energy were discovered each lasting only a fraction of a second.

Have no idea mate but it also mentions in the vid that the U.S. 6th fleet were based in Naples which looks almost directly north of Canneto di Caronia and another interesting comment from journalist Antonio Mazzeo about 'the installation of weapons structures'.

R.E. Ginna is a nuclear reactor on land that couldn't do it, it seems impossible to produce energy like that on a ship.

I saw a tv prog on this matter a few years back-the show reached no firm conclusions,but hinted at some unknown/paranormal reason for the fires and strange energy readings.

Later I read that a local and his son had been busted for starting the fires-this is mentioned on the wiki page:

That never seemed to explain the whole story-especially the orbs/ufos sighted and the giant energy spikes recorded.
It felt like misdirection..

I had never heard of the US Navy being in the area though-that raises questions.

I would speculate that the navy was indeed testing some kind of directed energy system,and having seen the "tic tac" UFO videos-I wonder if they are part of the same program.They share some behaviours-Orb like,super fast,"impossible"manouvres,entering/leaving the sea.

Could it be that the navy has some kind of system which controls or steers balls of plasma?
Maybe it is possible to create a plasma ball,then make it do seemingly impossible speeds/turns by hitting it with some kind of directed magnetic pulse?

Could be that the pilots who witnessed the tic tac event were unknowingly part of an in house experiment by the navy to test some new technology?
There were reports of guys in suits collecting the data from the Navy ships in the area of the tic tac-which to me seemed like someone knew what was going on,and were collecting data on their own experiments.

I think its very possible these Canneto fires and the tic tac event were people witnessing the same phenomena.
It may even be the same tech that was first witnessed as the Foo Fighters in WW2.

This is rather old technology.

The fires in California have been purposefully set using directed energy weaponry, that is obvious and blatant, and still happening, all over. They got away cleanly and think this is their new toy for making Climate Change proof.

I was on a jump and didn't have much time looking into your provided sources.

The first red flag came seconds into the first video. It hit me like lightning strike!

The narrator says couches and beds ignited. What is inside these? Springs. These are little metal coils.Okay now the coils are open circuit, even if one end, the bedframe is connected to earth potential. I remember a interesting detail from my former job. When they introduced me, they showed me some power plants and explained a lot.

One thing I clearly remember is that to measure the amperage flowing through thick cables, they used coils that would fit around these cables. Converters or something like that. Now, the interesting thing for me was, I was told that these things can explode. They work like this:

The electrons flow through the thick wire and 90° angles, they produce a magnetic field. As the electrons travel through the region where the coil is wrapped around, the induce voltage. But if their circuit is open, they overheat very fast and then they can explode because they overheat so fast that the insulation material vaporates. That's why they have to shortcut it when it's installed and be very attentive when switching over to measuring mode.

How it works is that the coil is shortcut inside the measuring equipment and the amperage is messured. Like if 1000A flow through the thick wire, the coil will put out 5A.

Back to the incident. If there were metal coils / springs inside the bed and couch, I can imagine with 15GW (it's a strange unit for expressing the strength of an magnetic field) these things could just evaporate or melt down very quick, starting a fire.

Same with everything where a magnetic field can induce a voltage. Everything conductible, the whole house would be a huge coil, with all the wiring inside the walls.

Apparently 'continuous investigations were also made with boats, helicopters and vehicles equipped with special instruments in order to detect electric, magnetic, geo-magnetic anomalies'.

In part eight of the news investigation the CUN Secretary does suggest that 'we may be in presence of some form of extremely advanced technology' but that 'he doesn’t believe in the existence of some kind of Spectre like organization'.

There's also this snippet involving the leaking of the official interim report in 2007.

In 2007, the task force, after closing the investigations and monitoring, leaked an interim report which raised more questions instead of providing some answers: and the conclusion was that the “bizarre” events were "caused by hundreds of high-power electromagnetic emissions which were not man-made and reached a power between 12 and 15 gigawatts."

Francesco Mantegna Venerando, Sicily's Civil Protection chief who co-ordinated the report, also said "This is just one possibility. We are also looking at another one which involves the testing of top-secret weapons by an unknown power which are also capable of producing an enormous amount of energy." And "This is not the final report. We are still working on our conclusions and this has been leaked," he concluded.

The thought about how so much energy was generated on a navy vessel opens many doors about suppressed technology and how the more seemingly legitimate "leaks" say our commonly understood technologies, i.e. burning oil or nuclear generated steam, is ancient news and only still used to keep certain people in positions of power, or more point of fact, to keep us vassals vassals.

As is usual with this stuff there is only hearsay and clues in public records. The hearsay and records do point to a there there, though.

Mauritanian grass roots carbonize

While the fires burnt throughout the city, other mysterious events were reported in and around the village. Strangely, the roots of hundreds of plants of the species Ampelodesmos Mauritanicus, a plant commonly called Mauritanian grass, were carbonized up to the top of the root.  The upper part of the plants suffered only superficial burns and other plant species remained completely unharmed.

Don't really put much stock into the research of Paola Harris but there are some claims made by her below.

Harris says that when the events started she spoke with a man in the Italian Navy who worked in intelligence in Rome at the Italian Navy Academy. Harris says, “He told me spheres of light were coming out of the water and it was pretty terrifying, that I should not involve myself.”
