Night Star
Hello NightStar,
Seeing it up close was amazing, yes.
I "think" they are actually the biggest eagle in the USA... bigger than bald eagles. Well, wingspan...for sure.
The vet had her leather gloves on, and this bird grabbed her one hand, and she got a couple fingers caught in the grip of one of its feet. And she was
getting a pained look on her face, and said "My God, this bird has a grip!" And off into the office they went..Ha!
What was beautiful was watching it fly away... went way high in a spiral flight, then once way up there, headed off in the direction where the lady
found it on the road.
It's beak also looked like it could do some serious damage too! Ha! Looked razor sharp.
The vet said she just put a bit of antibiotic cream on its cut wing...wasn't bad enough to need stitches.
The lady who rescued this bird from the road was a Navajo lady too... I got a feeling it was a special rescue effort for her, due to her heritage and
their beliefs.
