Uncle Tim? I suppose this is OK since he's not on the left.

They have merit, and they are perfectly capable. More capable then Betsy DeVos, Wilbur Ross and Ben Carson were.

Ben Carson is a decorated neurosurgeon, questioning his capabilities in any endeavor he chooses to follow is asinine of you.

Leftists choose people based on feelz, not qualifications or capabilities.
That’s why Biden is in there, he is the least qualified person to ever be elected president.
He coasted through 40 years in the senate while doing nothing and 8 years as VP while doing nothing.
Doing nothing while soothing hurt feelz is his specialty.

I didn't say that. I said he was [blatantly] chosen to give the Republicans rebuttal to Biden's Address to Congress because he was black.

And now we know how Kamala Harris was made VP.

No question about it. Black women were responsible for Biden winning the primary and they were loudly demanding he pick a "woman of color" to be his running mate. Between them and Clyburn, Biden didn't have a choice. It didn't have to be Kamala, but it had to be a woman of color.

What is with liberals and poor accountability to math/statistical accuracy, in other words a perspective grounded in reality? We saw the same trend happening here last November with folks playing fast and loose with demographic voting data with respect to alleged total votes in POTUS election relative to US population. To make the numbers work with the reported vote counts, INSANE levels of voter efficiency/participation were required, and there were posters here arguing that +90% percentile voter participation magically materialized in order to see the turnout that was 'reported' on in the media.

Now Sook hun, Pew Research, which itself is a bastion of liberal dogmatic groupthink, so take their 'stats' with a grain of salt, but Pew offered a data sheet that broke down the registered voter percentages from recent elections.

Pew says that around 19% of Dem voters are Black.

Let's split that in 2 (male/female, or wait, do we split it 3 ways? more?), and call it 10% are black females, given the general population skew towards females.

10% slice of population in the Dem's big tent coalition got Biden the nomination you say??

And what made this 10% of the Dem universe feel entitled that they can "loudly demand" who gets chosen for what? It takes a lot of nerve to even contemplate that things work this way.

Did we not learn from 2016 the two axioms of Democratic politics are:

1) primaries have very little basis in actual voter participation (i.e. super-delegates)
2) DNC party apparatchiks pre-ordain the outcome, then change the narrative to suit that intended outcome (see Bernie Sanders)

"It simply HAD to be a woman of color! ::eyeroll::

Delusions of grandeur.

The stunning hypocrisy is that the Republicans thought that by getting the only black Republican in the Senate to try to rebuff any trace of systemic racism in the US today would convince any black people that he was sincere and looking out for them.

How racist of you. SMH

Yup, Scott's ability to garner votes written off. His entire career and ability to be a Senator on his own merit written off.
Just attacked because he is black and a Republican.

Actual racism.
If there is systematic racism in the US it is ALL coming from the left.

Ben Carson grew up in the inner streets of Detroit in an impoverished, single-family home...his mother continued to work multiple jobs and his family never went on welfare. In school, Ben climbed his way up from last in his class to first in his class...enrolled and graduated from Yale...and then to U of Michigan medical school to study neurosurgery.

He also ran entire teams of doctors to successfully solve complex medical issues.

It would seem Dr. Carson knows a great deal about turning a bad situation into a better one.

Mental gymnastics of the left on FULL display in this thread.

"They just picked him to do the address counterpoint because he's black"

VS.

"Kamala Harris is a very qualified candidate for executive office!"

OR now we are given the narrative

"6% of the total population MANDATED that the US have a black female VP, so LET THY WILL BE DONE!"

Bends, twists and turns all day long.

LMAO!!! You do realize that the Department of Housing and Urban Development isn't like an episode of This Old House on PBS, yes? The secretary focuses on policies and programs supposedly intended to not only house and assist those in poverty stricken urban locations, but also combat urban blight AND (most importantly) try to help those in urban poverty get out of urban poverty. But no, in your world the HUD secretary seemingly advises urban dwellers of paint schemes and what the best cabinet door molding would be. No wonder you mock Ben Carson.

You've no idea what the Secretary of HUD does, do you??

He, or she, is in charge of the big picture. Combating urban blight and poverty. Not home renovation.

Your mockery is sadly off target.

Ben Carson is a success story from the inner city that should be celebrated, not mocked...of course, your inability to look past political affiliation would make that nearly impossible for you to do that.

It's a dog and pony show...

The Democrats and the old Republicans / McCain's, Tim Scott is playing you guys like a fiddle...
it's called Faux Outrage.

Faux Outrage Pretending one is offended, insulted or generally affronted by something which they really are not. The faux outrage is usually expressed publicly because it is done in the service of an agenda. Those expressing faux outrage usually labor under the delusion that no one can see through them, but most can.

The McCain family are good friends with Tim Scott, make no mistake about it.

You're only called a house "n" or an Uncle Tom when you expose the fraud and lies. If anything, folks that perpetuate and further the deceit are the actual sell outs to their race.

It's utter betrayal and racist to give constructive criticism. A LOT of folks are quite happy with the way things are.

I don't know about institutional racism because there's never going to be a pinpointed target by design, but I can speak to institutional welfare and the effects of drugs, crime, poverty, poor education and the like which creates dependant mentalities.

It's similar to a prisoners fear of being released after doing 40+ years. It's generational paranoia.

"You talk too much, they're going to take our checks."

Remember the falsehood about President Trump before he was elected in 2016? "He's going take our food stamps!!" 🤦🏾‍♂️

Which didn't happen, he actually gave a damn, but that was mostly ignored as well because it bruised the narrative. Almost from the outset and throughout his term, Trump was a racist when he was clearly not.

Tim here, was speaking the truth and making valid points. The left can't have that, and the so-called 'black community' is in willful denial.

Honestly, as I'm writing this, I would say it isn't too farfetched to surmise that the lack of responsibility and accountability out there goes hand in hand with generational government dependency.🤔

I should probably be careful of what I say though, considering my toasty brown complexion.

You're stretching it.

Dr. Carson was in a lead administrator position which he had already proved beyond a doubt he could handle. He wasn't buying supplies at Home Depot.🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

Geezus Sookie...🤣

While political affiliation is certainly a factor, it's obvious that her inability to look past skin color is the real problem.
