What the cops failed to recognize was Gonzales was probably a 100 lbs or more overweight. He had extreme pressure on his lungs and heart simply being laid out on his stomach for a length of time. Clearly there needs to be a new policy instituted where suspects should not be kept on their stomachs for more than a minute at most. That would have saved Chauvin's rear.

It's too bad Chauvin was too busy showing the crowd who's boss.

It's even better when the fake patriots/freedom lovers on ATS endorse it.

Wow, a POSSIBLE misdemeanor, good thing to kill someone over. Just incase you aren't following along in the thread they still cannot ask him for ID.

Stop running. Stop resisting.

Problem solved.

Spoken like a statist apologist. You are not required to present your ID to the police and in many states they are not allowed to ask at all.

It's amazing how many people don't know the most simplest of rights.

And none of them are legally, 'Do you have ID?'.

Not my problem you don't know your rights.

So how many times have you done that to the police Captain Know my rights? You see, if you are an officer and ask for ID and you say no it usually means warrants or the person is hiding something. It is not about loss of freedom. Not having to present ID is as stupid as no ID to vote.

this guy could have warrants. be a sex offender. All sorts of things and it is the duty of police officers to keep you and your family safe. All he had to do was give ID. Guy is walking around with hands in his pockets and could have a knife or a gun. Those cops were very respectful to him. Cops even knew him. How about the five minutes they tried to reason with him?

Then, like so many times there is resisting. For no reason. No weapons deployed. No tasers. No hitting him.

Then the cops try to revive him.

What do you have a problem with?

I agree, It is pointless trying to explain civil rights to people who don't care about their own.

No strawmen. Not irrelevant. Truth. Answer my question. How many times have you done that?

You see. You can choose to remain silent but that does not mean they cannot detain you. They can ever arrest you if they believe you have committed a crime. It leads to issues like this and so many others that have occurred. 4th Amendment protects you not state civil rights laws also.

An officer in half the states in the US cannot arrest you for not providing ID but if you act like a fool if you think they will not find something you are wrong.

If an officer approaches me for no reason I don't just hand over my ID but at the same time if they ask I have nothing to hide.

Once, in NYC.

Not one police officer in the country can detain you for not producing your ID. Why are you arguing this? Do you know the difference between producing ID and identifying yourself? This is the level of ignorance about your rights that leads to encounters like this.

Huge difference between this one and George Floyd.

I'd respectfully point out, that the outcome was Mario is just as dead as George Floyd.

That video was incredibly difficult to 'listen' to. They had him restrained and then they killed him. Doesn't matter how long it took to do it. This cops are fully responsible for killing a guy who wasn't doing anything to anyone to begin with.

I don't need a sarc meter for that. lol

But I don't think people understand that if the cops are called
every policy in the U.S. dictates an obligation to remedy the
complaint. What were they supposed to do just drive off and
leave the situation like they found it? What would that look
like if the guy later produces a machete and starts hacking on
people? They have to their job when a call is made.
