The problem is, in the time since the 70's we've watched companies like Pfizer and J&J do some fairly unspeakable things. I grew up when kids were being pushed to take speed because they couldn't concentrate, i watched my friends and people i know become hooked on opiates because of these companies, get totally #ed up off unnecessary anti-depressants and anti-psychotics because of these companies, there's been decades of human experimentation, suffering and deaths in third world countries because of these companies, they are very obviously making billions and billions of dollars off of this with nothing to lose.

Why should they be trusted?

That's like trusting an abusive spouse when they say 'love you babe, don't worry, I'll never smack you up again.'

I did, you just seem to be dismissing a lot of history from the people that created these vaccines, using data and studies published by these people as fact and generally can't seem to grasp the idea that a giant media campaign, being funded by the people who created this, who have everything to gain and nothing to lose and generally we're not allowed to criticise outside of places like ATS may just have ulterior motives beyond altruism and don't have our best interests in mind.

Again in the time since the 70's, they have repeatedly proven profits come before all else, including the health and wellbeing of people, why would this time be different?

Explain how you can possibly believe this time, they're not bending us over and #ing us to make money? When that's all they've done for 40 years?

I don't mean to take an easy way out. I just feel frozen in place
so to speak. This virus hasn't caused people to be dropping like flies.
But it was over hyped as if they were gonna be. And the way I perceived
that? Is that some people were counting on it to be that bad. The media
seems almost to be cheering it on. Tell me somebody isn't just raking it
in by everyone buying masks. Who would want to see a money tree like
that suddenly go away. And would they do anything to keep it going?
Greed needs no fact checking my good man. They are a known truth
that has always applied in every society on earth that ever existed.
The reach of the rich and powerful is boundless and they are not nice
people.

Each vaccine has different temperature storage requirements. I remember hearing that one of them has to be kept very cold.

India is a better partner than Canada has been. I say send the excess vaccines there.

This virus hasn't caused people to be dropping like flies.

Oh man, if there was young, healthy people dropping in the streets and #, I'd be the first person to mask the hell up and seclude myself from the world, I'd be begging for that vaccine...

If it was that swine flu of a few years back, that one that killed 30% of the young people that got it, I'd have been all over every single one of these covid measures, I'd be a mask shaming pro-lockdown, quarantine dude in a second...

It's just not that though...

I really thought it'd take like at least zombies or something actually scary for humanity to just lose its # this way.

But if people are skipping their second appointment they probably bailed entirely.

Not necessarily. I was late getting my second dose because I had a medical issue but got it later on. The 3 and 4-week thing is just the minimum time to wait.

It is odd people would get the first and not follow through though. Not a good thing.

The level of garbage on the Internet now is pretty troubling. Makes me wonder how backward and anti-science people are in this time in history. Although I suppose its human nature to fear what we don't understand.

Here it's at 32% fully vaccinated and over 40% had one shot at least. I thought we'd be further along by now. Plenty of vaccine now. Alaska even allows people to fly up here from out of state and get the shots.

on my face how political this was going to be. Right from the get go.

I don’t understand why someone would bother to get a first shot, and not the second. Unless they decided to go with fear due to hyped up concerns over the vaccines.

India is suffering right now, and they have to cremate bodies in the street.

I understand not wanting to be first in line, but this I do not.


ETA: I got the J&J 3 weeks ago and I didn’t have one bad side effect.
