How much one makes can be moot, so whether someone make 13 an hour or 20 million a year you can equalize this rather quickly. If we today said we will equalize everyone below 100k to 100k at todays spending power all you need to do is keep printing more money to pay for everything. We just need to start off by offsetting everyone who makes less than 100k, so if you only make 20k the Goverment pays you another 80k. When the value of the dollar is cut in half then the government ups it to 200k so that everyone who is now under 200k still has the buying power of 100k, BUT you have effectible reduced the rich payouts in half. Then you do it again and a again, keep printing more money until the dollar is worth 1 cent of what it is worth today and the government pays everyone at that point who is under 10 million enough to get them to 10 million to keep everyone at that 100k buying power. In the end the guy making 20 million will have 200k buying power and the guy living on the streets will still have 100k buying power.

You would effectively wipe out all the billionaires and even someone like Jeff Jeff Bezos would barely make it. Worried about them transferring their money to another currency, just make it Capital Punishment offence for 10 years

Problem solved....

You are effectively promoting hyperinflation, which has caused nothing but human misery everywhere on the planet, across history.

This is known historical fact.

Read a book sometime....

I don't understand people like this, it's the same with people who advocate for communism; even when they have the facts that it has never ever worked in practical term, people still cling on to it ("real communism have never been tried" etc etc), same with OP:s idea, as other commenters have stated, it has already been tested & ended in misery (remember those pictures of people that had to have a full wheelbarrow of cash just to buy a loaf of bread)

I really want to understand the psyche of people that keeps advocating for thing that have been tried but never ever worked in real life, why do people like that still cling onto ideas that don't work?

That is where the Capital Punishment comes in to play, so when death becomes an option money doesn't seem so great. Also your IQ is not high enough to recognized high IQ, so sorry...lol

That's a ton of IQ's

Or..we make our own private currency and start paying the gov like they work for us again.
The whole system is too corrupt to fix.
Look at Amazon. The cia gatekeepers of sales of goods and information siphoning...Larping as a corporation, built on subsidies stolen by taxpayers.
Insider trading like Pelosi. Lobbying, Closing small businesses.
It's just corporate facism larping as a system and now it is using vulture capitalism directly taking over the country by hostile means.
There's no nice guy way out of it.

Cheers for brainstorming though, we need some solutions before they go full commie social credit scoring.

Its hyperinflation done right. What would it matter to you if a loaf of bread cost you 1 dollar or 100 dollars if the Goverment gives you that 100 dollars. The key is to keep printing and passing money to those of us in need to keep our buying power the same... The key here is the buying power and not the value of the money. Who cares about those who make a lot of money I want to raise up all of us who either just do not want to work, or have done so many poor life choices we are stuck in a path of low wage while others not the same have money we can all use.

So they are not just going to pass me their money and that is why we hyperinflate it...

If I am reading the underlying point of your post, we are mainly talking about taking care of everyone's basic needs, regardless of the value of the dollar? Correct?

Those people almost took over the world...BTW...You don't need a wheelbarrow, just print dollars like the lira which has 1000 to 100,000 notes, you wheelbarrow dilemma is solved.

Once again why should you care if your note to buy a loaf of bread says 1 dollar or 1000 dollars... The only person who would care is that billionaire that is now a low end millionaire...lol, so as long as you are not rich already its a win for you!

You cannot make everyone equal. You also choke off innovation and investment as you effectively remove those incentives as productive people are not rewarded.

I don't get this fascination with wealthy inequality and the assumption that the inequality exist due to some nefarious means. We are not all equal and never will be.

That and maybe a little more.. Keep anyone around 100k at todays "buying" power...This would totally destroy the evil rich...

People today who make low wages do not care about innovation and investment, so what is your point? Your iPhone 12 isn't good enough you need an iPhone 13 or 20?

They do care about innovation.... you think low wage people don't benefit from all the improvements from technology and other advances that make their standard living the highest in the world?

No, it's not a win, as soon as the government prints more money for you, all stores will instantly raise their prices, so when you asked the government for 1 billion dollar to buy a loaf of bread, the store will now raise the prices, you now have only have 1 billion dollar but the loaf now costs 2 billion dollar by the time you go shopping. How is that convenient? Thats what happened last time with hyperinflation, it's not about "why do you care if a loaf of bread cost 1 billion or 2 billion", it's about the money you got allocated to you from the government is now useless by the time you want to use them, you can't save money for more than a day, probably less. You basically have to ask the government for a handout while you are in the checkout queueueueueu!

A slightly better way would be to have a dynamic pricing system based on income bracket, so for poor people a loaf of bread cost 1 dollar, if your income bracket is 10'000 a year its 10% more, if its 20'000 a year it's 20% more (or whatever multiplier one would want to use), still not a good system but hey....
