For the first time in the UK, a large sheep circle was spotted.

The 47-year-old, who is a lecturer at Royal Holloway University in London, said he goes past the sheep every day and they are usually very noisy

A huge flock of sheep has caused a stir after being spotted standing in bizarre concentric circles in a field in East Sussex, UK.

Christopher Hogg, the man who spotted the never-seen-before phenomenon while being out on his bike in Rottingdean, said he initially thought it was a spaceship.

Probably not because the circling as symptom is a single individual going in circles as in loss of coordination/orientation.

Could it be feed placed in a specific pattern?

Scary.

I saw a picture the other day of I think Antelopes or some other similar animal that does this on purpose, putting the youngest and most vulnerable in the very middle so that predators can't really get a good target. It certainly isn't unknown in the animal kingdom even if unknown in sheep. Maybe they saw the same picture and decided to try it?

That's legitimately one of the creepiest things I've seen in a while.

Reindeer/caribou do this. It looks pretty unsettling, too.

My goldfish did this when I was a kid, but they were in the toilet so it would've been odd if they didn't.

Have to wonder just what they are doing, there is something going on. Fear of the dead cat? Some animal respect instinct?

gives me the shivers...

Most probably eating the food dropped by the farmer's sheep snacker, maybe he did this as a prank or amusement to see if anyone would notice the sheep.

Anyway, we know it's not a EweFO, maybe it's just a Flock Circle.

They're probably spooked by the ATV.

Too bad there's no video to show their movement.

but it does appear they maintained that configuration for at least a little while, and not moving around too much.

There's a couple more images here, www.dailymail.co.uk...

It does seem they moved once he got closer.
