NSW floods live updates: 10m Australians under weather warning as two systems collide
BoM says all states except Western Australia are expected to be affected.

About 18,000 Australians have been evacuated from flooding across New South Wales (NSW) as heavy rain continues to batter the east coast.

Days of torrential downpours have caused rivers and dams to overflow around Sydney - the state capital - and in south-east Queensland.

Officials say the "one-in-a-50-year event" may continue all week and have urged the public to exercise caution.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has offered funds for those forced to flee.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said no deaths had been reported by late Monday - describing it as "a miracle given what we have been through".

But there has been widespread damage in the affected areas, which are home to about a third of Australia's 25 million people.

This is really sad to see. First fires, and now floods. Can our Aussie friends catch a damn break already?

The bureaus statement most states will be affected, I guess Western Australia's mining industry is too valuable to a certain nation.

This weather pattern is highly unusual to cover approx 33 percent of australia. I find it hard to find no other explanation other than weather control being a possibility.

Already thousands are off work due to covid, people will try to slim down their expenses, like insurances to afford to eat. Sadly, I wonder how many people have lost everything, now become homeless and destitute, and our great saviour, come in to buy out farms, assets effectively buying up australia for a bargain price. We are screwed.

Horrible,

Question, how was the wild land fire this season there? Below normal?

Way below normal, here in melbourne there were some grass fires mostly possibly deliberately lit.

Though state wide there were mostly controlled burns.

This summer makes no real sense, itwas a reallymild summer.

Also china was blocked from buying crown casino by the Morrison government.

I remember a few years ago, they had flooding in Australia that pushed poisonous spiders into areas where the flooding hadn't hit. Thousands of webs stretched all over. Creepy looking.

It was an extremely abnormally mild summer down here in Melbourne... I think we had maybe one or two days over 40 degrees during the whole summer.

I even rocked up to the family Christmas Day function wearing a jumper, it was that mild... very unusual to even consider putting on a jumper in the middle of the day at that time of year.

Probably just the natural order of things though... guess it’s why they call Australia the land of droughts and floods. It goes from one extreme to another.

Andrews got pissed at a party and fell down some stairs.

He is a goose, not a target.
