This is stupid.

According to Politico, some Democratic members of Congress do not feel a third stimulus check is enough. Two months before the new relief package was signed, 50 Democratic members of the House of Representatives signed a letter asking President Biden to prioritize recurring direct checks instead of one-time stimulus payments.

It's no longer a stimulus if it is constantly reoccurring. Let's call it what it is, UBI.

I think most people are reasonable and were ok with 1 or 2, the third was a stretch, and now this is just ridiculous.

I've always maintained that I'd rather have a tax cut, spending cuts, and everyone back to work than a check from the government that will make poor people less able to eat.

There are also massive food shortages coming. I'm not sure how bad it will be, but I'm stocking up. This country is in for some dark times.

I'm in 100% agreement with that. I'm attacking it from all fronts, upping my foraging skills, stocking up. Learning more about preservation, drying, canning, fermentation. I'm expanding my garden too. From what I've learned from friends in 3rd world countries, gardens are very vulnerable, and they have to have armed guards 24/7....

I pass of the stimulus checks...and wait until they start dismantling the US Military.
Then I'd like a tank.

Every check my wife and I have gotten has gone into our savings... The way it's looking, I'm torn on whether I should use that money or not. It's bound to be worthless before the year is up.
