There was an apparent missile strike on a(n) US 'base' in Iraq but the name of where it came from caught me of guard.

"The Iraqi military released a statement saying the attack did not cause significant losses and that security forces had found the launch pad used for the rockets. It was found in the al-Baghdadi area of Anbar, an Iraqi military official said on condition of anonymity to discuss the attack with the media."

The name al-Baghdadi strikes a chord(English slang). Weird my bros.

Not exactly a small base.
33.8020953, 42.4931169

Look like Harrier jets, Marine base?

Not trying to be a prick (not to the OP and don't shoot the messenger).
Can someone tell me why we bombed Iranian backed militias in Syria again? Didn't John Kerry give Iran money? Bad business deal? This doesn't jive well.

Al-Baghdadi means "From Baghdad". It gets added at the end of names as a specifier. The ISIS leader was originally named Ibrahim Awad Ibrahim Ali al-Badri al-Samarrai. He was born about 80 miles north of Baghdad in Samarra.

"Jerusalem (AP) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday accused Iran of attacking an Israeli-owned ship in the Gulf of Oman last week, a mysterious explosion that further spiked security concerns in the region.

Without offering any evidence to his claim, Netanyahu told Israeli public broadcaster Kan that “it was indeed an act by Iran, that’s clear.”

So they say

Zaphod, didn't you mention awhile back when Iran was on video placing or removing a magnetic bomb on a Japanese vessel, that Iran had 2 factions of military that were at odds. Old guards vs. The new nicer military?

Well, Joey and the MIC will have it running full bore in a few months, and not a squeak from the left especially those here on ATS. Guess trying to stay out of military conflicts and trying to get troops home wasn't a priority

Yea it doesn't seem that way. Joe Biden was never a anti-war politician i believe. Looking at his early cabinet picks and his doublespeak on saudi Arabia weapons and Yemen, it doesn't look good.

I guess im considered left on here because i criticized Trump and have some lefty view points. Im anti-war regardless of candidate and i doubt any lefties on ATS are in full support of Joe Biden.

Trump wasn't anti-war either though.

Moderates vs IRGC, who are basically fanatics. Moderates want more open relations with the rest of the world, the IRGC want to keep the Ayatollahs in power, and want more conservative Islamic law in place.
