Hey ATSers! I heard a little birdie that told me a rumor
That there NO Clinical trials that are peer reviewed that prove that masks are effective in spreading specifically the
Coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

If they exist please post the link to the actual clinical trial or study and also IT HAS TO BE PEER REVIEWED AND DUPLICATED BY OTHER SCIENTISTS.

I want SCIENCE Not conjecture, opinion or editorializing by some BS Yahoo, msnbc or CNN article. Please don’t post any media links to any fake news media on the right or the left.

And for the love of God please no SNOPES.

Thank you for helping me do research.

Peer reviewed. Pfft.

All of us maskless secondhand murderers could come together and discuss how masks absolutely don't work and it'll be a peer reviewed study proving masks don't work.

Peer review is a joke.
I’ve been directly involved in the process and can guarantee that many of the peers had no fricken idea what they were reading.

Some peer reviews may be a joke, but wearing a mask is a continuous joke. A joke being played out on all of us. Please delete your thread and continue with your programming. Thanks in advance.

I can smell mine and apparently so can my wife (bummer). I also get smacked in the face with the smell of leather when I go to the boot store.

If the masks work so well, why are they telling everyone that you still need to mask up after you’ve been “vaccinated?”

The answer is that it’s all a big grift, and none of it is for our “safety,” and anyone with a thinking brain can see how obvious this obvious sham is.

People on reddit get upset about this Mask FACT. i.imgur.com...

It's impossible for surgical or cloth masks to protect/prevent you from spreading any virus. They don't seal around the mouse/nose and they don't have a filter material designed to prevent virus from passing through it.

www.youtube.com...

Only thing a surgical or cloth mask will do is make it harder for you to breath.

My best suggestion would be to check out PubMed.com. A quick search for "masks" will bring up all available peer-reviewed clinical studies and reviews. If you want it to be Covid-19 specific, add it to the search words. And/or any other words that seem relevant and weed out non relevant results.

Good luck!

Is there another test? I'd really rather not do that one.

How about, "If you can smell BS through that mask ..."

That hurt me to read! Is that a partial double negative, sneakily trying to get us to find studies that prove masks SPREAD virus?

Personally, I've known since grade-school that surgical masks do not stop the transmission of virus (or plural virusses? virusi?) but if they stop a fleck of virus laden booger from landing on a passers by eye or prevent scared, pitiful normies from soiling their panties, fine. Whateves.

Peer review is a joke. if you pack the peer group with people that support mask wearing

Peer review of Climate Change and Global Warming proves you can pack any peer review group with supporters of what you want to fool the people with.

Wait! You can smell farts through a mask??
I guess that explains all the dirty looks at the grocery store!
Well what the hell are they good for then?

My understanding (which could be completely wrong)
Is that the virus is mainly spread by water droplets from coughing/sneezing/shouting and even talking.

So shouldn't we be talking about masks that are good/bad at stopping water droplets? 🤔

Did you go to a specialist?

Did you get sized and fitted for your mask?

Are you clean shaven?

Can you smell anything through your mask?

If you answered no to the first 3 and yes to the last question.

The answer is no your mask is useless.

If masks are donned properly, worn properly, and properly disposed of. By people that actually want to wear them.

Not this lie of double masking for a mask not designed to double mask, wearing it so your glasses fog up. Upside down. Wearing them relaxed, below the nose. Hanging from one ear. Not doing anything strenuous so they actually stay in place. Then thrown to the ground. Littering the parking lot. Carried to the dump by truck, to a land fill with no biological hazard controls implemented.

Masks are a psychological op to make snowflakes feel “safe”.

It's not really as simple or black and white as your request.

The performance of a mask may be assessed in a couple of ways. Whether the mask is to protect the wearer from particles or the mask is used to stop particles spreading from the wearer, the tests for validity are the same.

But bear in mind that a peer reviewed paper on such a topic may not exist, but certified test reports held by the manufacturers of the products DO exist in any CE/European country.

The mask fabric is tested for particle filtration efficiency and bacterial filtration efficiency. Down to around 0.3um the fabric is tested to see if it keeps out particles of such size under air pressure, and also tested to see if it keeps at bay Staphlococcus aureus bacteria (0.1um).

The current coronavirus is about 0.12um - so are these tests effective to identify if the masks provide adequate protection? Maybe not.

Do all masks need testing? This depends on the claim the manufacturer is making.

So you need to look at the relevant tests each individual type of mask has been subjected to, the claims the manufacturer is making and also the fabric used for the mask.

On the subject of 'double masks'. The theory is good. You are adding extra layers of filtering fabric, so increasing the level of protection/filtration, but it may be cumbersome.

At the end of the day, after all this is said, we must not forget that Covid-19 is not AIDS, cancer, etc it is a survivable condition which effects a VERY SPECIFIC portion of the community. Focus should be on protecting the effected members of the community and focus shouldn't be diverted from this.

If the masks work so well, why are they telling everyone that you still need to mask up after you’ve been “vaccinated?”
...

Well, there are plenty of indications that the vaccines don't (or hardly) work in making you immune to the virus (or preventing you from catching the virus or be tested positive for Corona). Often, they've already changed their marketing claims from "immunity" to "severe form of Covid-19", or the concept of 'immunity to catching the virus' to 'not getting the disease' (Covid-19), as if you can tell the difference when someone only has mild symptoms or is asymptomatic (which is then conveniently counted as not having the disease, if vaccinated of course, otherwise there's no motive for counting it that way).

Remember, Fauci and the CDC were against the use of masks for the general public early on when Trump pointed out in a press conference that even wearing a scarf would be at least somewhat beneficial, not as much as a proper mask, but still some benefit; after that they switched positions, so I wouldn't be too quick in presuming that wearing masks has no beneficial effect at all. Cause it seems that those on the side of Corona (who want it to spread so they or their business associates in Big Health Care and Big Pharma can make more money on treating patients and rolling out vaccines), seem to want you to doubt that. Just like they want you to doubt that HCQ works (the backlash against Ivermectin is much less significant, take for example the opinions of the EVMS, for which a picture including their opinion on Ivermectin and HCQ was recently shared in one of these threads. EVMS = Eastern Virginia Medical School. They claim HCQ doesn't work but Ivermectin does. Since I have seen sufficient evidence that HCQ + Azithromycin + Zinc + Vitamin C + D3 works very well, that makes me doubt their claim about Ivermectin as well; on the other hand, I've also seen more reliable sources recommend both HCQ and Ivermectin, so it's a little unclear to me. It seems HCQ is more of a threat to the pro-Corona crowd, corporations and so-perceived 'scientific' institutions; possibly because it works better than Ivermectin* if used in the right way with the right combination of other substances earlier mentioned, zinc being the most important one because HCQ is a zinc ionophore).

*: For example, I've not seen these type of results from Ivermectin (or any vaccine for that matter):

California Doctor Saves Lives with Hydroxychloroquine (playlist)

Here's someone who has recommended both HCQ and Ivermectin, explaining how and why HCQ works:

Covid-19 Hydroxychloroquine Mechanism of Action & Antiviral functions and effects - by Dr. Mobeen (beginning of the playlist)

Dr. Raoult with his experiences with treating patients with HCQ + Azithromycin:

I was going to say "If you can smell the Mickey D's particles wafting on the air current before you cast the mask aside to stuff the junk food down the gullet, then it's not filtering the particles well wafting on the breeze from someone's germy exhales, either."

But your way of putting it is far more succinct. Indeed, if you can smell your butt perfume, OR ANYONE ELSE'S, they sold the "less observant" folks waterfront property on the moon again.
