Real Gun Fight, Only 56 Seconds

This is the type of things Hollywood depicts, but they obviously sometimes happen in real life.
Excerpt from story

At the core of his desperate firefight was a murderous attacker who simply would not go down, even though he was shot 14 times with .45-cal. ammunition – six of those hits in supposedly fatal locations.......The whole shootout had lasted 56 seconds, Gramins said. The assailant had fired 21 rounds from his two handguns....
Gramins had discharged 33 rounds.

Cops are not considered good marksmen. They have to "qualify" at the range once per year, which is pathetic.

Gramins thought, “He just tried to kill me! Where’s that part of it?”

I hope that asshole doctor found out at some point why "that cop" had to shoot the suspect so many times.

Also what I will call zombie adrenalin, the person is going to die for sure, but stays in the fight just long enough to possibly kill the other person. No wonder they say go for the head, just to be sure.
The article did note the gun battle ended with multiple head shots.
Also why they use a heavier caliber hand gun to stop a charging person, a person coming at you with a knife even shot fatally with multiple body shots can still do damage before they go down for good.

Standard.45ACP at 230gr. Is just below the subsonic range, 900fps. Hollow Point Ammo doesn’t expand well below 1000 FPS. That’s one of the key reasons the FBI changed to S&W.40 , the bullet is lighter 180 gr. and much faster, 1400fps, for complete hollow point expansion. Full sonic ammo using hollow points, create a “terminal wound channel.”

I am not arguing your point at all, what you say is true and I agree with the bullet's statistics, but they (FBI) don't (overall) use the .40 caliber for their own reasons.

FBI goes back to the 9mm...

3 yards confrontation, 3 steps taken, 3 shots fired...all over in 3 secs.

Someone should be dead...

PS. I know you're referring to a gun "battle"-"fight"....

Something I always wondered is why there is such a thing as hollow point ammo when it's considered a war crime to use it in a war?

If the Army can't use it why does Law Enforcement get a pass?

Because hollow points kill and not wound more often than FMJ. You tie up 3-4 people to save a wounded man vs,leaving a dead soldier on the ground instead. Its not for humanitarian reasons. PErsonally i always believed in the use of HESH heads myself. Screw war crime laws,war is to be won. They are Messier,and scares the hell out of soldiers when you see your buddies torso blown in half leading to demoralization and sometimes surrender. They also happen to be illegal under Geneva conventions,such a shame.
