Actually it’s about complete and ruthless control against any that would dissent against the CCP.

These poor folks seem to adhere to their version of culture but got stuck in the border realms.

In China, it's just about state control of religion. If it can't be Sinocized (meaning controlled so that the State is the predominant voice and power in it), then it's expunged.

It's a little like how the Romans wanted religions handled in that they allowed all religions just fine so long as the Emperor was deified right alongside whatever gods those religions worshipped. They disliked Christianity because it refused to put the emperors on the level with God or even give them any level of deity at all.

With China, it's the picture of Mao and the other leaders of the communist party -- the State. If you have a Christian church and you allow the State to do that and vet your sermons, etc., then you're allowed to operate, but if you refuse, then you're treated about as well as the Uyghers are.

The only reason you hear anything about the Uyghers over here at all *is* because they're Muslims. China treats Christians as badly for similar reasons, but you won't hear a thing about it.

These things start conversations and every person who learns the truth can share the truth. That said every person who rejects the truth has to live with that choice as well but can make no excuses if there are consequences.
