According to my local news, he was battling cancer pretty good.
I think I'll chalk him kicking the bucket up to the much deadlier cancer here, kthx.
That is correct. Like Herman Cain, who was also battling cancer, Covid-19 pushed Senator Wright over the cliff. I think the same phenomena caused Larry King to die 2 weeks ago.
Hank Aaron got a Covid-19 Vaccine and died 2 weeks later.

Herman Cain had been cancer free for something like over 8 years. The problem with COVID is you just don't know. Annee just mentioned her healthy brother, recently my friend's husband who is 43 with no underlying conditions had heart failure and surgery to remove blood clots. Your grandma may not even have a fever and be positive.
That is the problem. It affects everyone differently. I think only people who have not known people to be affected think it's "weak" to wear a mask or take precautions. I know I personally do not want to be the one responsible for potentially causing a loved ones death or a month out of work because I didn't want to be considered"weak" so I just went on doing whatever I liked, however I like.

I'm not sure you're getting how this works. Underlying health conditions, for whatever reason, make covid more deadly.
Any of us could be walking about with undiagnosed health issues. This is why lockdowns and mask wearing is happening.
The flu would have killed him, too.
Let me be VERY blunt here, screw feelings.
If a strong cold or flu sends to you the cemetary, then you were already most of the way in the cemetary gate to begin with. Stop crying about it, we're not invincible and we don't live forever. An itty bitty minority of folks get the short end of the draw and are #ed over dead by mutated colds and flus every year. I'm not getting worked up & doling out pity points over this because someone had bad odds.
The flu would have killed him, too.

He had been battling cancer for several years. Yep, COVID, the cancer had nothing to do with it.
It's an Underlying Health Condition... which COVID thrives upon.
I'm sure everyone attended THAT meeting down the docks a year ago.
EDIT: Oh, I see the next post after yours said the same thing, but, hell, it deserves underlining, despite the handful of rather ignorant comments following that post in quick succession - ignorance which I assume we're supposed to DENY.
PS: And yes, condolences to Annee. A very good friend of my wife died recently, too, at 58; no underlying conditions. Perspectives change quickly when COVID becomes personal.
