According to my local news, he was battling cancer pretty good.

I think I'll chalk him kicking the bucket up to the much deadlier cancer here, kthx.

That is correct. Like Herman Cain, who was also battling cancer, Covid-19 pushed Senator Wright over the cliff. I think the same phenomena caused Larry King to die 2 weeks ago.

Hank Aaron got a Covid-19 Vaccine and died 2 weeks later.

Herman Cain had been cancer free for something like over 8 years. The problem with COVID is you just don't know. Annee just mentioned her healthy brother, recently my friend's husband who is 43 with no underlying conditions had heart failure and surgery to remove blood clots. Your grandma may not even have a fever and be positive.

That is the problem. It affects everyone differently. I think only people who have not known people to be affected think it's "weak" to wear a mask or take precautions. I know I personally do not want to be the one responsible for potentially causing a loved ones death or a month out of work because I didn't want to be considered"weak" so I just went on doing whatever I liked, however I like.

My brother recently died of Covid.

One of those very healthy all his life, never sick, goes to the gym every day, kind of people.

No underlying health issue.

oh f...
sorry for your loss!

The data is pretty clear though... Covid is practically a non issue for most people under 65 years old. Most that succumb to it have significant co-morbidities. It is exceedingly rate that someone young and healthy would die from Covid. It is about the same risk as dying in a car accident.

One stat I saw is that the average Covid death is like 78 years old... which is interesting if you keep in mind the average mortality is also around 78 years old too.

Sorry to hear that. Can I ask how old he was?

I understand what you are saying, however I would have to look at statistics that show healthy people that have experienced cases that have caused them problems that may have done something like kept them out of work for weeks or months or now have to take certain medications or precautions they didn't before. I know with the group I know of, we may be financially stable, but being out of work for a month or more can be a big hit.

I feel if I can try to avoid infecting myself or others then it's the best I can do. As I said, I do not want to be the one responsible for causing anyone's illness. Plus first year without colds rampaging through the house since we mask up and sanitize more often.

People at risk need to take precaution, the rest of us need to get on with our lives.

There is a lot of fear mongering. The problem is the media makes people think healthy 30 year olds are out jogging on Monday, catch covid and die the following week. This isn't the case.

The reality is that someone is old and likely already has a toe in the grave. Did covid push up their death a month or two? We don't know...

Digest this statistic. Something like close to 50% of covid deaths are tied to LTC facilities. I've seen a couple of studies done BEFORE covid showing average tenure at an LTC facility is six months to a year before death.

The mysterious virus is about as deadly as the flu virus, now that we have 10 months of data and the luxury of hindsight.

It is NOT 10 times more deadly than flu, as Fauci proclaimed once upon a time last year.

The RINO !!!

Bet he did it on purpose!

Less jokingly, COVID-19 is a serious cause of many mortalities, and pretending that everyone who dies of COVID-19 is somehow weaker or inferior is ignoring that none of us is perfect and we are all susceptible to death.

I'm not sure you're getting how this works. Underlying health conditions, for whatever reason, make covid more deadly.

Any of us could be walking about with undiagnosed health issues. This is why lockdowns and mask wearing is happening.

The flu would have killed him, too.

Let me be VERY blunt here, screw feelings.

If a strong cold or flu sends to you the cemetary, then you were already most of the way in the cemetary gate to begin with. Stop crying about it, we're not invincible and we don't live forever. An itty bitty minority of folks get the short end of the draw and are #ed over dead by mutated colds and flus every year. I'm not getting worked up & doling out pity points over this because someone had bad odds.

The flu would have killed him, too.

Even the common cold .
Or a minor scratch

It's an Underlying Health Condition... which COVID thrives upon.

I'm sure everyone attended THAT meeting down the docks a year ago.

EDIT: Oh, I see the next post after yours said the same thing, but, hell, it deserves underlining, despite the handful of rather ignorant comments following that post in quick succession - ignorance which I assume we're supposed to DENY.

PS: And yes, condolences to Annee. A very good friend of my wife died recently, too, at 58; no underlying conditions. Perspectives change quickly when COVID becomes personal.

He had been battling cancer for several years. Yep, COVID, the cancer had nothing to do with it.

Here’s the deal, though, Confused Brit: people were dying from the flu (more people than from covid) for years- forever, really- before this super duper super contagious super scary super mutant virus came along, yet we weren’t subjected to having our jobs taken away, having our movements severely limited, with whom we associate, when, and why severely limited, nor told how far apart to stand. Right? The flu has been killing people with underlying health conditions for centuries and centuries.

Yet all of a sudden, this little virus, magnitudes LESS DEADLY than the flu, somehow calls for all of these ridiculous measures. Furthermore, the people in charge of this mess have been contradicting themselves every couples of weeks, have been caught breaking their own “safety” rules over and over and over again, and have been caught smudging and changing and lying about data.

You tell me now, do you honestly think this is about a super deadly virus? Why don’t you trust the numbers from the CDC? Why do you believe what the talking heads are telling you?

That’s a real question- why do you believe what the authorities are telling you?

Do you really not see the red flags with their story? Are you really that afraid?

I recall that my great uncle had his knee replaced and he got an infection and ended up getting pneumonia from that and dying. He died from complications of his knee surgery, not pneumonia although technically that's what killed him.

These days you get a knee surgery and get an infection and pick up COVID along the way and then die of pneumonia, no one mentions all that other stuff, you simply died of COVID.

When will people wake up? These politicians and "experts" are destroying not only our economy but our entire social structure over something equal to the seasonal flu. They are DESTROYING our country and there can be no question at this point that it is being done ON PURPOSE.

You know what? When I was young and healthy, I caught a bad viral infection of some sort that went into my lungs. I've had mild exercise asthma ever since. It was worse when I was younger, but things happen. Are you going to tell me I had COVID all those years ago?
