Sawyer's product line is respectable. I use their Permethrin sprays to treat my outdoor clothing and their insect repellents
(Deet and Picaridin) are in my bags. Gotta be careful you don't get Deet on your other gear ... and it pays to know when to use this stuff and when not to.

Those lifestraw gizmos are the cat's @ss. Probably get more mileage out of 'em in a camp-type setting ... rather than humping hard from point A to point B. There are 'extras' to buy (i.e. gaskets) that'll keep that lifestraw in-use. Again, it pays to know how to use 'the system' rather than just buying it for a rainy day. It's not heavy gear, but it does occupy what seems to be a significant amount of space in my ruck.
