Big baked potato... butter, chives, bacon and cheese. Accompanied by a 16oz super fatty rib eye cooked medium rare. Just knock the horns off and wipe it's ass.

Loaded hash browns... plenty of salt and pepper.

Did you know that cooked potatoes have a higher glycemic index than glucose?

The OP also had "chips" listed, but I think he would have meant what we call "crisps".

Boil 'em up. Mash 'em up. Stick 'em in a stew. (Preferably with a brace of coneys)

Or you could do it the Tex/Cajun way with beef debris and queso.

I'm sure beef debris is amazing... but, Texas... that name. Beef. Debris.

Used to eat the English version all the time, but it's not the same, I'd love to try actual Poutine.

Chips
Mozzarella or sometimes Cheddar/Red Leicester
Chip spice (I put that stuff on everything)
Beef gravy

Most take away places and Chip shops sell it up here, love it!

Can't believe you guys missed the best potatoes of all!!

Diced potatoes, a little sage, rosemary and thyme, sprinkled generously with Parmesan cheese and a few pats of butter. Wrap the whole batch up tightly in a greased tinfoil pouch and toss it in a campfire.

Oh man!! After a long day hiking and fishing you've never eaten so good!!

To step it up even further, add to the fire a fresh cutthroat or rainbow trout, slathered in mayo (inside and out) with some lemon slices inside the body cavity,, sprinkled with some dill, salt and pepper ...all wrapped up in a lightly greased separate tinfoil pouch.

You'll know what Heaven is like!!

I am here.
Poutine with the works for the win.

I did a 60 km bike trip (60 kms there and 60 kms home) and slept in the woods, all I wanted was poutine....the damn thing costed me 14 bucks but had everything in it.
I ate close to 80 bucks on that trip just getting there.....when you are biking through the hills of Quebec, you need calories.
I always pride myself on not spending money on gas, on that trip, I ate so much, I wish I would have just spent it on gas and got a ride.

A $14.00 poutine, and in Quebec no less!? I bet it was amazing.
I don't cycle, but that sounds like a trip. There's nothing better than road trip eats.

sorry you got the cheese completely wrong. it has to be cheese curds. very important cuz every canadian knows that mozza or chedder or any other cheese is a travesty. Maybe our officials will make it illegal to commit that travest. cheese curds only

If I could find a good poutine for 3 bucks....thats called winning!!
My poutine had the works, chicken, cheese curds, gravy and whatever else they can put on it.
It was actually a Lebanese place so it was Lebanese style Quebec poutine.
Weird, I know, but was still good.

I spent the most money on gatorade, the poutine was cheap compared to the amount I spent on gatorade....it was a hot day in the hills.
