Pollak: Biden Kills Up to 70,000 Jobs on First Day in Office

President Joe Biden’s first day in office may have been historic in more ways than one: he may have set a single-day record for the number of jobs killed by an American president.

Biden revoked the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline, as promised. In so doing, he killed some 11,000 direct jobs that the pipeline’s construction was to have created, and an estimated 60,000 indirect jobs in secondary, related industries.

Over 1,000 workers already on the job — mostly union workers — will be laid off as a result of the decision, even if it is litigated, as many expect it will be, in the courts.

TEAMSTERS STATEMENT ON CANCELATION OF THE KEYSTONE XL PIPELINE

The following is a statement from Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa on the issuance of an executive order by President Biden canceling the completion of construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, which will affect 8,000 union jobs and members’ retirement and health benefits.

“The Teamsters strongly oppose yesterday’s decision, and we would urge the administration to reconsider it. This executive order doesn’t just affect U.S. Teamsters; it hurts our Canadian brothers and sisters as well who work on this project. It will reduce good-paying union jobs that allow workers to provide a middle-class standard of living to their families. America needs access to various forms of energy that can keep its economy running in the years ahead. This decision will hurt that effort.

The Teamsters know that President Biden is a friend to workers.

First of all Biden dint do that to benefit Russia
He did it for the thousand of native people that oppose the project from the beginning and there was also the repercussion on the wild life that environmentalists where concern about...And Trump dint care for neither of them.

The Democrats ceased to be the friend of blue-collar workers long ago. Millions of jobs will be gone shortly.

Democrats have evolved into the party of the rich and powerful. Ironic no?

Get ready for new energy taxes and for the cost of living to go up.

Lol 2 days into this potus’s responsibility of being president I have seen, no actions to actually help the people of this country. Stop the wall being built check, renege, on a contract that employs thousands and will usher in cheaper energy check.

Looks to me like AMERICA, made a grave mistake, simply because they were stupid enough to believe the lies they were being told, and also used emotion instead of actual intelligence at the polls.

Good job morons..

No at the moment I am not a fan of this administration.

So everything we normally pay for will be more expensive and we'll have less money to pay for all of it.

Yeah, but at least Trump can't tweet any longer. That is kind of a win for America, right?

Many remember the original controversies.

Maybe it's time to detail those controversies again in detail and re-open that conversation.

In the meantime, thousands get cracked in the ass with another job loss onslaught.

Who has priority in the face slappings ? 🤨

Could be paying back Buffett who is a major investor in BNSF rail line that would need to be used without the Keystone... although Buffet seems to support Keystone.

Really haven't heard a convincing argument why Keystone is a bad idea other than environmental BS.

Interesting Possibility !! 😎

Well, I will just seat back and wait, for the domino effect of bad policies to hit the already worn out working class, now that is all ready been blame to covid, covid, covid and Trump.

Still you can not run a nation without a plan to help ease the financial meltdown coming hour way.

But who cares, did not Sleepy joe promised that we will leave the dependency on oil and will be driving electric cars very soon?

he needs a trillions of dollars for his global warming plans, mostly will go to the Paris deal. He want to stop all new oil, mining and gas ventures, more jobs to be lost, after sending trillions oversea for global warming,

He wants to make electricity carbon dependency free, meaning more expensive energy,

He also wants us to get electric cars, well without a plan to boost the economy I am sure we will be giving free electric cars thanks to his administration or that is what the greenies will love.

In other words he wants to make US soo clean that farts will be illegal and punished with jail time.

Now how are we getting all the money for this? oh, yes he have to get congress to make it possible, can not wait for the next bubble to burst.
