Well like my previous post stated; the media set up the perfect picture for this. “Bombing in Baghdad” is this administration’s first test. Here’s an excerpt from previous post

The explosions shattered a period of relative calm after Islamic State lost the territory it controlled in Iraq and Syria in 2019. The blasts highlight the security challenges facing Iraq after the U.S. withdrew much of its military presence from the country in the last days of the Trump administration.

WSJ link

Now less than a week into his presidency, he continues right down Obama’s war path

The bombing provides US President Joe Biden with an early opportunity to show US support for Iraq. Biden has said that the US is “back” and the world can expect the US to care again about foreign policy and work multilaterally to solve problems.

Jerusalem post link

Only time will tell, if sleepy joe is a wardog.... If it does pan out with our military going back full swing, it begs the question..... Why did he lift the travel ban if there is a threat of terrorism from “Muslim extremists”?

From same article

Coalition Spokesman Col. Wayne Marotto said that it sends “our condolences to those affected by the attack in Baghdad today. This is yet another instance of terrorists killing fellow Iraqis & harms those who seek peace.” The recently appointed Middle East coordinator for policy under Biden, Brett McGurk, was a former envoy for the US-led Coalition against ISIS. An expert on Iraq, he will take a keen interest in addressing the issues in the wake of the bombing.

Still glad you “80 million” made that decision...... how can you justify more war, in a land we have nearly conquered over the last two decades?

All so predictable.

For those who voted for Biden, is this really what you wanted?

Didn't take long for Biden to take a dip in my estimations. I didn't really have much of an opinion of him but this is a bad move.

Shame!

After President Barack Obama left just under 10,000 troops in Afghanistan, Mr. Trump ordered about 3,000 more to the country in 2017 before beginning a drawdown that has resulted in about 4,500 there today. He also increased troop levels in Syria, where American forces have battled the Islamic State, from about 500 under Mr. Obama to nearly 2,500 before dropping to a current level of 750

The missing piece here is that tens of thousands of forces are deployed all across the Middle East, supporting ongoing operations in the region and beyond,” said Dana Stroul, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. “The president has even increased the U.S. military presence in Saudi Arabia. None of those forces have been withdrawn over the course of his term.

www.nytimes.com...

Nothing different here. Obama pulled some troops out and then Trump put some in. Now Trump pulls some troops out and Biden will put some in.

They're all playing politics. None of them really care about ending the forever war.

We'll see if the new administration really ramps things up or not.

We will be at war within his first year....and we will lose a lot due to his inability to make a good decision.

Yup. One family member has just had his retirement request denied, and received his orders to go to Iraq. Again.

I'm expecting to hear of more (especially my younger relatives) being sent back.

I guess it's time for Red Fridays again...

ETA: I don't think we can blame Biden completely for this. Something was already stirring... Biden just said it out loud.

Surprise - NOT

Biden’s Key Role in the Crime of the Century: The 2003 U.S. Invasion of Iraq

Joe Biden presents himself as an empathetic guy who is willing to go the extra mile to help people overcome their personal tragedies.

However, Biden has throughout his career endorsed policies that caused countless personal tragedies for millions of people.

The best example is his support for the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq.

It led to the deaths and wounding of thousands of U.S. soldiers, killing of an estimated one million Iraqis, and destabilization of a wide swath of the Middle East.........

We told you again and again that this is exactly what would happen if Joe became POTUS.

NOW you say you didn't see this coming?

Shame indeed...

Yay! The war pigs are back!

At least we dont have Trump hurting people's feelings. Death and destruction is so much less offensive.

But yet, you voted for him! (Or supported him) all to get rid of the guy who hadn’t started a war in 4 years, because “orange man bad”

I truly wish people will see the perpetual cycle of power.... it’s right in front of our eyes for years! And I’m only 30 years old..... hopefully the next 30 are different, but I will remember to “be the change, I want to see.”

Oh such perfect timing that bombing had. Trump all but obliterated ISIS and now all of a sudden barely 2 days after his inauguration Biden's CIA detonates a bomb. SUCH COINCIDENCE. they are so transparently corrupt and what the hell can we do about it.

News flash, it never went away, and stop using this as some form of excuse to say Trump was better, if anything he was more evil, he still bombed Syria and Iran and still assassinated people through drone strikes.

That's hilarious

It will be a "peaceful" war....no death, just the releasing of a beautiful soul, and no destruction, just the returning the land back to nature to take its rightful course.....

I figure it will be written something like that.

He bombed ISIL. ISIL was propped up and supported by elements of our own military industrial complex in order to overthrow governments and cause chaos and death all over the middle east to justify our continued military intervention and occupation if the area. There is nothing hilarious about any of it, millions of lives have already been lost and millions more are at stake.

Yeah....those were some people that did something.....I am sure they were super progressive and just never had the chance to really have their personal truths discussed. They were just misunderstood.

Syria refused to let US oil corporations in and Iran refused to budge in the face of US bullying and sanctions? Yeah, they did something alright

Sure, I guess the fact that ISIL were getting close to the oil pipelines in Syria had nothing to do with it either? Evidently, last I checked, US troops were still illegally in that country.

And let's not forget that ISIL was a product of previous US policies in the region and also, let's not forget that illegal US invasions in the Middle East also probably cost millions of lives.

Just saying
