ZDnet article

Telegram announced on Monday that it reached 500 million registered users, while Signal's servers went down on Friday after seeing "millions upon millions of new users" in a sudden influx the company said exceeded even its most optimistic projections.

Privacy-focused search engine DuckDuckGo reached a major milestone in its 12-year-old history this week when it recorded on Monday its first-ever day with more than 100 million user search queries.

Gab.com, Clouthub.com, and MeWe are other platforms that are gaining market share.

“Our traffic is up 753% in the past 24 hours. Tens of millions of visits,” said Gab in response to a question about slow loading speeds.

The free speech network announced that it would bring ten new servers online to handle the increased traffic volume.

Try doing a few political or health searches on duckduckgo instead of google, crazy how skewed some of them can get.

I don't do social media sites. I really don't know what the attraction is, but I don't like Anime or video games either, so it boils down to each his own.

I don't know why, if the problem is having the right to say whatever you want to say, why do you need social media sites? Why provide the same people that you feel is censoring you, with information that can be used against you and for which you will have no real gain.

I guess if you aren't aware, you just don't know. ATS and one other forum is the only place I participate on the internet, outside of work. My job occasionally places me in a situation where I work with the CSI branch of law enforcement. Only one time of watching those guys work, was enough for me to minimize my internet footprint. When you know there is nothing that you put on the internet is private, you will likely be less cavalier about what you post. You can't hide on the internet.

I have seen them take a phone thrown from a car that looked like trash, and still be able to retrieve data from it. I have seen them take phones, and in very little time, be able to trace almost every call, text, pic, even ones that have been removed in some cases, every place the owner of the phone traveled, and every site they visited on the internet.

The internet is a very useful tool for us, but it is even more useful for them. Those people that think they can out run them, you can't. You don't out run them by crossing the street. Remember the government's involvement in the internet. The government only allows the public access to anything they created, when it is no longer that useful to them, and they can remove it at will, or because it is a tool that provides them with information or money from the populace.

I don't trust anyone of them. I know everything I say on the internet can be surveilled. They don't have to go through any elaborate measures to see what I have posted on the internet, because I don't say anything here that I don't say in the real world. I am not anonymous, and I am the same person in both realms.

I am not condoning censorship and the illegal breaches of our privacy. I would just like to say that trusting these sites, may not be wise. Especially any new sites that pop up. I am just suggesting caution.

Just like with Internet Explorer, MS use to throw its weight around b/c they were only game in town. As other browsers were adopted by more and more users, that stopped. The same thing needs to happen to Google, Amazon, Twitter, and Facebook. If you want them thinking for you, I guess its all well and good. They now know they can get away with covering up the Biden/Hunter pay to play, the election fraud, and now deplatforming(actually been going on for a while, but now very brazen about it.)

You can see how Google has affected wellness sites HERE, the owner of Self Hacked did a story on Google Crushing sites, whichATS has also experienced... The sheeple might get confused by all the free thinking going on.

Everyone will tread lighter knowing there are alternatives, but we have to start using those alternatives for it to work.

Maybe the people had enough of how Big Tech is taking us for a ride and brainwashing the public.

That's the only way we can keeping then in check. They think they are untouchable God's but if the people start standing together they loose money and that hurts

Using alternatives to Google=good. DDG is considered by many to be the next best option. However, there are many alternatives HERE, you can also see how dominant the evil empire has become.

The answer is that WhatsApp, Europe's most used messenger spooked a lot of people into leaving it, with their newest change to the data usage agreement.

The outcry was so loud, that they reacted and I think it's now May or something when European users finally have to accept it. The app will stop working 8th February though, for those waiting.

That's why signal saw a huge inrush. Incidently on Friday, my landlord came up and asked if I can fix his Whatsapp, I explained it to them that there isn't that much change (apparently) but he insisted I delete it.

On Friday I updated three of their mobile phones to Signal from the play store, seems a lot of others had redundant situations and it added up. This would explain the delay we experienced.

Spread the word,so far so good for Gab.com

Gab is well on track to do over 50 million page views for the month of November, which would place us well ahead of Newsmax, the Washington Examiner, and the Bongino Report. At our current rate of growth, Gab is set to pass The Daily Beast, TMZ, ABCNEWS, and the Wall Street Journal by Q2 2021 or sooner.

600,000 join free speech platform Gab IN ONE DAY

Torba also revealed that insiders within Big Tech have approached him seeking employment with the company, alienated from the most wide-ranging left-wing purge of right-wingers, nationalists, and conservatives from Twitter in history.

I've noticed ATS posting traffic decreasing a little each day, since 1.1.2021.

Late night posting activity is way down too.

Is everyone spreading themselves out to other platforms, and focusing less on AboveTopSecret.com?

Well Google did deplatform ATS.. it really is a site killer. On the positive side, Cohen also is aware his site hits are up on alternative search like duckduckgo.com. They are gaining, but ebil empire is WAY ahead.

Other health forums I visit have also noticed. Do a few searches on google censorship, its not as blatant as Twitter, but it will destroy a business. Compare searches with duckduckgo.com, especially political or health searches.

I try to post links to ATS discussion when I get a chance.

I think the trolls have chased a lot of people away from here. Sadly this place has become infested with them. It pains me to say that but I think there’s a lot of truth to it.

I started here back in 06 or 07 and it was a place you could actually have an intellectually and thought provoking discussion without some troll jumping in with some ridiculously ignorant comment every other post. I think there’s still good discussion here but it gets cluttered with nonsense at times and I think many have just gotten tired of it and left or don’t post much anymore.

Have you noticed how many of the “no fraud squad” have left since Biden got elected? Some are still here but I’ve noticed a lot that have disappeared. Hmmm...wonder why that would be?

It was nice when everyone I "followed" was on Twitter. I'd have 12 Twitter bookmarks on the front page of my browser. Now, these users are scattered all over. And with many of the sites, you have to join and log-in in order to read the posts and the comments about the posts made by other followers.

I would never use Google search again if one of the alternative engines matches Google's time filtering robustness, and results display.

I joined GAB for free, I think it is surging the most and very similar to Twitter. Maybe Parler will overtake it when it comes back.

Therein lies their control, many sites with the information you want, you will never find b/c they deplatformed them. Just like ATS.
