@Mods, feel free to move this if required.

Well ATS Colleagues , like the rest of you I've been perusing youtube more than usual of late.
As much as I agree with ads for up and coming channels I do take umbrage with the chosen advertisers.
Every one is encouraging the viewer to order food for home delivery, sign up for a certain audiobook provider, learn online, exercise at home and the list goes on.
I get the same ones over and over again with no ability to opt out, report or block.
Yes, I can enable one of many ad blockers but that eats into smaller channels relying on the income.
Does anyone see anything than continuous Owrellian propaganda? Also, how much does this small number of promoted sites make?
It fells like an extension of the MSM, attempting to dumb the populace down and make us happy to exist in our home prisons.
Down and dirty rant between meetings but I think I made my point

Adds you see
depend on your location.
when I'm in another country
my adds are totally different
than when I'm in the states

Can you post an example
of one of these Orwellian Ads?

Snoopy Dawg % Just Eat) = eat at home
Dominos = eat at home
Audible = listen at home
Host your own private online game with 888 Poker = play at home
Peoloton = exercise at home

Never one promoting anything other than staying at home, ever.

These will change with location but you get the idea. It just irks me that this is forced on people with no option to opt out.

I tried reporting one casino as repetitive after 10 in a row but the Big G replied that that was not a valid objection.

I've re-enabled the blocking across ewetube and apologise to those site that miss out but this blatant propaganda is verging on the ridiculous. Everyone calls out the MSM but this seems to get a free pass.

Not so different from what we see on TV. A lot of that is all stay at home centric too. But I make it a practice to skip YouTube ads as fast as possible. I am so sick of the grammerly one I could scream.

Indeed , it feels like a small cabal of advertisers, none of which actually inspire any form of interest or excitement.

You dare question what your betters tell you, citizen? You'd best re-adjust your thinking and do as you are told.

Much safer, and it's your patriotic duty. We are, after all, not a government by the people anymore, so says our incoming comrade-in-chief.

I have a feeling this is only the beginning..

The beginning of what? - The attack on the worlds economy and upper/middle class. Why? They want Socialism & the Great Reset..

Hopefully I'm wrong but pretty sure I'm not.

There's nothing Orwllian, Owrellian or Orwellian about it.

Find another word.

Or how about this one:

"For your safety" or "For your protection" etc.

I see a lot of signs that say this shizz now.

For your safety, we've closed our public restrooms LUL

To serve you better, we've shortened our hours of operation LUL

How in God's good earth does shortened business hours serve me better? I had to use your public restroom and make a purchase. Now I can't do either when I get off of work.

I feel such grand service and safety now.

Work, consume, obey. Never think for yourself. Your government knows best. Take the experimental vaccine or lose your rights. Does this sound like a free country to you?

"Interestingly," the corporate-political narrative can be summed up in two concepts:
1) Nuh uh
2) No u

Frequently with a bit of a mix! With the actual term "Orwellian," we are now seeing it claimed by the Ministry of Truth that the real Orwellian stuff is coming from the people who are calling it out.

The only way this can succeed is with constant neurological saturation and inculcated trust in inherently non-trustworthy info channels (like the news, commercials, etc).

Id even go so far as to argue that commercials on a publisher like YouTube are critical to this process. Even if it isnt all intentional manipulation, this has been going on for quite some time. We can examine everything from youtube ads to "gamergate" to see it.

As long as they can get pertinent keywords into those first five seconds before ads are skippable, itll work about the same in shaping cultural & social focus.

Yeah I either get those or other 'rona related propaganda. Celebrities bragging how they stay at home and live simple to keep everyone safe and such also oddly enough Canadian tourism ads.

Been seeing a lot of basically "white is bad" adds. A relative who works at Walmart had to go through a process of learning she is a white and so she is racist even if she does not realize it and what she needs to do to fix herself.

The one I find creepy was that I was just in the bathroom washing my hands and reflecting that our shower (likely original work when they built our house) needed to be reworked. The grout is old and stained.

When I refresh my work page and look at a page with ads on it ... it's about a company that's selling a process to refresh shower grout. Kid you not, and I've never seen that one before.

Now that's creepy.

That's a lot more subtle, but if you pay attention, nearly every family you see is either incomplete (missing one of the two parents in the depiction; doesn't mean he or she isn't "there"), nontraditional, or has one or more members as minority these days.
