Everyone should stay home and off the streets on inaugration day

There is another thread about the approx. 50,000 armed, locked and loaded, troops on the streets of the USA, not just in DC but in many states on inauguration day.

I have written about this several places and on several sites. I have been deeply saddened that liberals response is anger at this call to stay home and off the streets.

I think especially conservatives should stay home and off the streets and out of public on inauguration day. If accidentally caught up in an incident they will have the book thrown at them. So for their safety they should stay home and out of public. During the summer of love many were caught up accidentally in the "peaceful protests", so it can easily happen with a wrong turn of the car or walking to the wrong business.

if they go to where there are protests or protest in person.

So don't go out, don't be on the streets, don't put yourself and other conservatives in jeopardy with your behavior.

But also liberals should not be out on the streets or out in public that day, in the US no one can tell who is liberal and who is conservative unless you are carrying a sign or wearing political gear. With 50,000 armed troops on the streets that day it is not safe for you either to be on the streets or out in public.

So regardless of your politics, stay home if at all possible on inauguration day.

DO NOT go to DC or any state capital that day, if you live in one of those capitals with armed locked and loaded troops, call in sick at work, and stay home.

Also, COVID is really, really bad out there, another reason for everyone to keep off the streets and in their homes or places of business.

You want to show your approval of the inauguration? Watch it on TV. Now ratings are gathered electronically, cable companies report who is and is not watching a particular show, streaming companies also report and keep track of everything you watch that you stream. So watching will show your support.

You want to protest the inauguration? Don't watch the inauguration on TV, don't stream it, don't read positive articles about it. If the ratings tank that also sends a clear message that is better than putting yourself in harms way.

My advice is: Stay home, stay off the streets, stay out of public, go to work and back only if you must, call in sick if you can. Obviously the government anticipates violence, don't get caught up in it - don't go there! Tell your friends it is a very dangerous day in the USA and to stay in.

I know this will make liberals angry to say, but it is the clear truth as witnessed by the deployment of more troops in the streets of the US than participated in DDay in WWII.

I think lefties should swarm DC. They need to support their man. Show him the kind of love Trump was shown. Give him a crowd worthy of a President.

But conservatives need to stay home. We aren't welcome there. And that's cool.

the point is, none of that needs to happen on the 20th. All they need is one guy in a MAGA hat to show up, then they can push him into a cop, film it, and prove that ALL non lefties are deranged killers.

Not that they would do that.

Yep, exactly. What if they put together a riot and nobody other than “them” showed up?

“They” are already doing everything they can to silence conservative voices and dissent. If people take that a step further and start voluntarily silencing themselves, the fight is all but over. But it needs to be taken a step further. Don’t show up covered in tactical gear with every gun you own strapped to you. They’re already going after the 1st and 2nd Amendments hard. Continuing to give them a reason to extend the label and definition of “insurrectionists” to as wide a group as possible is a no-win for anybody and everybody.

Right now, too many people lack the courage of their convictions. People would do well to read the room.

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

All next week though, I'll be in downtown Portland because of meetings I'm scheduling to conincide with doctor's appointments for my neck, mixing work with necessity. I won't be armed with anything more than a mask because my meetings include hospitals and I'm all about saving lives.

Regardless of whether the RIght or Patriots show up or not, we will still get blamed for the shills pretending to be Trumpers.

I say the Right SHOULD show up by the thousands! If rioting breaks out, just back away and let them riot and get arrested.

Or better yet, do a citizens arrest and carry them tied up, and place them at the feet of the police.

I disagree. I am thinking ATS is a good place to be to keep up with what's going on. It never ceases to amaze me the links and information on here that I, for one, would never see if I weren't here. The riots are a perfect example of that.

I may not be in the USA, but I will be checking here frequently on Wednesday. (good thing I work from home and can do that)

By staying home and not protesting on Inauguration Day we control the narrative.
We have been easily manipulated by the left and we now know some of the tactics in their playbook.
Whatever way they spin it doesn’t matter, the majority of disenfranchised citizens know better. We can’t rely on any politicians to help us, we will draw the line and let them know when enough is enough.
I don’t see this happening through violence or violent confrontation but through passive resistance/ civil disobedience, boycotting, and large displays of faith.
We could have giant prayer revivals, strong religious faith frustrates the left. At these prayer revivals we could select certain powerful left wing politicians and focus all our prayers on them publicly for their redemption.
