Emoticons do not work in the message system

I found a problem with the message system.

It won't show emoticons like

It's only there when my message is quoted in the answer text box. I noticed because the sent message looked strange. Was sure I used some in there to visualize my gratefulness but they only show up when the person answers.

This is not a complaint.

now im upset. My big complaint was I can't use the ones I have

the selection is rather limited but this hasnt been updated since ive been here its not a priority so i guess its ok

I guess so, it worked before so I wanted to point out, something is breaking apart
