(CNN)Bigger stimulus checks. More aid for the unemployed, the hungry and those facing eviction. Additional support for small businesses, states and local governments. Increased funding for vaccinations and testing.

These are key parts of a $1.9 trillion proposal that President-elect Joe Biden plans to unveil Thursday evening.

Billed as the American Rescue Plan, the package augments many of the measures in Congress' historic $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill from March and in the $900 billion legislation from December, which was scaled back to garner support from Senate Republicans.

Now that Democrats control both chambers and the White House, Biden is pushing for the big steps he says are needed to address immediate needs and control the coronavirus pandemic. He also plans to lay out an economic recovery plan in coming weeks that aims to create jobs and combat the climate crisis, among other measures.

I hope so cuz nothing will rescue the American people faster than gender studies in Pakistan.

This will be just like the last stimulus, and the one before that, and the one before that.....

How can I trust an American Rescue Plan name after the botched bill for covid relief sending election interference money to China and "gender studies" to Pakistan?

Moving forward, anything with this administration needs to come from a .Gov source or else it's just bunk lies to me.

When it was $900 billion $740 billion went to foreign nations and special interests. Now its more than twice that amount, and dems were crying that the $2000 per person Trump wanted was too expensive. So where did all the extra money come from? Oh...wait...dems in office...here come the taxes...
