Cops and courts care and worry about motive.

The Capitol was "breached". It was a protest, in my opinion, not an insurection.

Did they do illegal stuff.

Yes.

They should be punished.

But personally, I'm sick and ####ing tired of playing by the god-damned rules when thousands of arsonists, looters go off scott-free by the evil left.

It's disgusting.

So yes, celebrate and glorify in punishing these law-breakers.

It's a big "meh" for me with our unequal justice system.

Behold: I have been able to deduce why the US Capitol building was breached.

Lets break it down even further...

The real reason he US Capitol was breached was because of these thieving tyrants.

Congressman Jerrold Nadler said what happened over the Summer was a myth.

But the OP has asked us to own what happened on the 6th.

How can they own the summer of fire if it didn’t exist?

Well the pollsters were telling us the Congressional Approval Ratings were lower than normal 😃

Guess they were more accurate than they thought 😃

Aha! A thoughtful riposte, thanks DB.

I don’t think it rises to the level of insurrection, though I do disagree that it was simply a protest. A protest becomes a riot when there’s destruction of property and acts of violence. If the summer of love was a lengthy string of riots, then this certainly meets that criteria.

That said, given that I’m of the opinion that those responsible for the summer of love should have been, and still should be, held to answer for it I see no problem with expecting the same now. I’m not the one refusing to prosecute anybody.

I've always been of the opinion that looters should have been shot.

They were willfully destroying lives and livelyhoods. And they got away with it.

Now the moral side of me thinks these rioters should also be held accountable.

But then evil, bad, wrong-thinking side of me is laughing at the quandry now that faces those who gave quarter to the thousands of rioters this past summer.

Who knew grown ups respond so poorly to name calling, eh?

You mean when obama, called Patriots," Bible thumpers" or the Washington redskins changed their name?

Seemed pretty peaceful compared to those supposed peaceful protests over the summer by BLM/Antifa. Unsure what the big deal is other than the amount of hypocrisy from the left.

I watched several videos with a mob chanting
"Black Lives Matter". Odd that, they were inside
The Capitol. Too bad you did not include any of
those videos in your OP.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

On a micro level what is happening could be compared to the workplace.

On Monday morning the whole workplace including the boss observes one of your coworkers break company rules and he is given a free pass.

On Tuesday morning you happen to break the same rule. You are disciplined for it.

You mention this to your boss and he says that it was different. When you ask him why he has no good reason.

You go to HR and they say what the other employee did was different. When you ask what was the difference they can’t give you a good reason. Then they take away your expense account and email privileges.

You then go to Labor Relations or another government body and they say the same thing yet you get no good explanation as to why.

Would you be frustrated and feel like you were wronged?
Would you want fairness? Maybe if the other person was disciplined to the same level you would feel better. Maybe if they cleared your record you would feel better.

OP, you are asking the second employee to own what they did without holding the first employee accountable.

Both employees were wrong to break the rules but only one gets punished.

I wouldn't be surprised if the officials deliberately understaffed and undersupplied riot resistance police in the hope that things would escalate, giving big tech the keys to censor and the left's leadership (and MSM being the mouthpiece) enough ammunition to go on a rampage against the right, with intent to destroy all opposition that is not in line with the narrative.

You are entitled to your opinion even if its not correct.

Well, let's see what happens to the guy who stole the lectern..who's out on his missus's bail/balls, and will be defended by, it seems, two lawyers. Is he a prick, special needs, hard core Republican, maybe all three or just someone who got sucked in through the window, due to pressure change, when the window was broken, so maybe all four (it happens a lot you know )

Stupid vs Stupid is not played on a chess board.

Not sure exactly what this construct is suppose to be, but I promise you, Einstein, would never attempt to discover how to do it....
