It's not like China because it's done by private companies, not the government. I think Twitter and facebook are bias as the companys are run by left-leaning folk. But there is no system in place preventing people from creating another twitter or Facebook.

I stopped using Facebook awhile ago because of data mining, and only use Instagram. I know it's a bit compromised but o well. At Instagram has good vibes. I can't imagine the toxicity on twotter and Facebook right now.

Yeah, but this is the kind of crap that commies do. Same with fascists. Really, any authoritarian regime would do this.

But you're right. I personally don't like the conflation of terms either.

What the democrats and big tech are doing is definitely fascism.

The leader of the mob tweeted.

“Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election,” Trump, a Republican, tweeted on 20 December. “Big protest in DC on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!

So social media platforms need to combat fake news unless the fake news , or "alternative facts" , are coming from the person or group you support.

There is hypocrisy here but it isn't coming from said platforms.

Two things people REALLY need to study...
Real communism
What freedom of speech is.

It is apparent nobody understands anymore.

PS. Yes the tech giants are shutting down certain people, #1 are they private companies MUCH like the Christian bakers that don’t want to bake gay wedding cakes? It seems like everyone was all for It’s their business it’s their right except with it comes back to slap them in the face on a larger scale.

#2 Is anything in world preventing conservatives from starting their own social media sites?

Hm....

It isn't quite that simple...they are literally shutting down every avenue to even make starting an different service possible.

Start your own company... Fine.

But wait... now we won't carry it in the Apple store. Fine.

But Wait... now we take it down from Google store. Fine.

But wait... now we pressure ISPs to cut your service. ...

It never ends...

It would be an act of communism if we had a communist form of government and the government sanctioned the banning. What we have here is an act of treason and an attempt to silence the executive branch

LMAO
The only one that is playing games is you.
Maybe you can show me Trump’s quote where he said “Break into the Capitol”?
You associating him saying “wild” as an incitement for what happened is just silly.
No....not silly, plain stupid.

I find it amazing that people can’t understand that simple concept.
Yeah, Twitter can ban someone. Whatever.
But when a tech company says you can’t put parler on their servers and then still allow tic tok....that’s an issue.

These companies are activity using selective censorship.

You must have missed it. Some of the mob arrived " tooled up "

Who does that at a " peaceful protest "

Is that what is the matter here?
As a Brit, you are still hurt at what happened almost 250 years ago?

Who knows?, I haven’t had any reason to go to one yet.
Who was dropping off the pallets of bricks at the scenes of unrest in cities around the US last summer?
Why do Antifa carry around bike locks on chains to “peaceful”protests?
The bottom line is....Trump did not incite what happened the other day, anyone that believes he did is stupid.

Nikki Haley Likens Trump Twitter Suspension to Act of Communism

That word has lost all meaning due to people like Haley using it as an insult against everything. There used to be conservative arguments, people making good points against arguments. Now there is just a blanket charge of communism, against any and everything.

Seems the days of thinking conservatives are long gone, if they ever really existed.

Ironically, it's more like an act of McCarthyism. Conservatism is the new communism after all.

Until FB, Twitter etc. is deemed a public utility it is still just a private company.

Actually, it is not. None of them are.

Do you understand the difference between a privately held company, and a publicly traded company?

These are all publicly traded. They are subject to whatever restrictions Congress wishes to impose.

In fact, any Corporation or other 'legal fiction' is subject to whatever restrictions the State wishes to impose, as they do not enjoy the same Rights, Privileges and Immunities as real human beings - or at least, they shouldn't, and yes, this needs to be fixed via a Constitutional Amendment.

Currently they enjoy a tremendous advantage - immunity from lawsuits - due to the 230 protections, because they are supposed to be just a platform, not a publisher. They are now acting fully as publishers, and 230 protections need to go away from them now. I'm fine with the 230 protections in general, but they need to be clarified, so that they lose the protections the second they start engaging in publishing/editorial actions.
