No they haven't. But it does happen. Itchy trigger fingers, people on edge, high tension situation and that's before you get on to external factors that could diminish the thought process like tiredness or illness. There are a lot of factors at play which led to this woman, sadly losing her life.

The woman was screaming like a banshee in the seconds before she jumped up on the door. This provided the intent needed for police to determine that she was a significant threat. Other cops no doubt communicated that to the cop on the other side of the door.

Capitol police are screened and trained not to have itchy trigger fingers with it hammered that lethal force is a last resort. Specially concerning unarmed civilians.

And again. If the group at the door was such a threat to a person on the other side of the door, why did the law enforcement standing toe to toe with the group stand down.

You

The woman was screaming like a banshee in the seconds before she jumped up on the door.

What was she screaming? Was it a threat. Was she armed to carry out a threat?

You are grounded in your beliefs. Don't expect me to try changing your beliefs. Argument over for me.

The guy who was standing next to her says they smashed the windows, Used tear gas, and stun grenades to blitz their way in.

They came en masse with some sort of fantasy of overthrowing a Government...until Some bad man fired a gun. Wow, Snowflake central. Revolutionaries in their own tiny minds. aka, Shat the bed.

As others have said it seems like some of the cops were sympathetic to the "cause" of the rioters.

The ones who opened the door for them, stood aside and made small talk. The ones taking their jobs seriously would have felt even more powerless due to this. Tensions would be higher than normal.

Logically speaking.

Your the one that seems to think people can be shot for screaming?

And I thought lethal force is authorized when a person presents a clear threat with the means to carry out that threat.

Should a quadriplegic be shot if they threaten to kick someone to death?

Ok. What does that have to do with people of power being evacuated before Babbitt tried to get through the door window?

I am sorry that you don’t understand that you don’t get to shoot unarmed people because they are simply trespassing.

Isn't trespassing on Goverment Property a shootable offence?

If I can ignore the strawman argument being substituted for an argument with any sort of substance to it surely you can ignore it too.

Nothing, what does people of power being evacuated before Babbitt tried to get through the door window have to do with Babbits death?

I was asking because I didn't know the answer. Is that not what people do these days?

In that case, best of luck getting an accurate and honest answer from them

Maybe you should look at the big picture instead of zeroing in on the actions of a cop that used deadly force. That should provide context into why events happened as they did.

Nah.

Much better to cite a policy that has yet to be produced, ignore the totality of circumstances, pretend irrelevant anecdotal experience is somehow actually very relevant, zero in on one single moment while ignoring any and all information outside of that moment, insist on black and white decisions made in a vacuum being the standard, cite some more policy conflict without producing the policy, then employ at least four different logical fallacies to try and cling to some small shred of dignity and give yourself the ability to claim victory.

The scary thing is, at this moment in time and without any context you could be addressing either side of the political divide with this.

Pence was sheltered inside the Capitol while listening to chants of "hang Pence", but sure let the woman through the window and let the crowd follow her through against one guy with a gun. That would have ended well, correct?

She was not a "conservative protester".

She was an insurrectionist who was forcing her way into our Capitol and got shot. She is not a patriot. She listened to the wrong people. And she paid the price.

Conservative protesters, my ass!

Where exactly are you getting the idea that they were attempting to overthrow the government? You do understand what the word insurrection means, right?

Straight from the horse's mouth.
I saw a video where a guy is saying the plan is to bust down the doors. When asked "Then what?", his reply was to start chanting loudly "HEADS ON PIKES, HEADS ON PIKES!"
Also footage of everyone chanting "STRING 'EM UP, STRING 'EM UP, STRING 'EM UP!"

Kinda gives off a kinda insurrection vibe if you ask me...
