There is no healing a divide like this, this divide has been present for over 200 years now. It takes various shapes over time, changes to fit the new culture in the country, and keeps right on ticking. Heck it was there at the very beginning, why would colonists fight a war against their rulers? Because of a divide. The same with Middle Eastern countries, there is a divide. The EU and the UK, a divide. This is human nature you're talking about, it's been around a long time, and is not going anywhere soon.

Why would you wish it to go away? Do we want all people to think and act alike? I can't think of a worse fate for humanity than that.
