Leader of Proud Boys Arrested

WASHINGTON — The leader of the Proud Boys, the far-right group that has vocally supported President Trump’s efforts to overturn the election results, was arrested on Monday on charges of destruction of property after he arrived in Washington to protest the congressional certification of the election later this week, according to a person familiar with the matter.

He burned a BLM flag in December that was taken from "one of the oldest Black churches in Washington".

Although you have to read a few paragraphs in to find out that he didn't just show up and start destroying property....

On Monday, the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in D.C. filed a lawsuit against the Proud Boys and Tarrio alleging that the group scaled its fence and tore down a large Black Lives Matter sign on display. It was one of two historically Black churches that were vandalized during the protests.

For those who didn’t read the article- he was arrested for burning a BLM flag that was hanging on a black church (I didn’t know churches were segregated?) last December, which he admitted to doing without issue or restraint.

The Proud Boys were key players in protests and marches in mid-December that gave way to violent clashes between Mr. Trump’s supporters, counterprotesters and law enforcement, as well as vandalism and destruction of property at churches in the city, including historic Black churches. The local police said at the time that it would investigate the church attacks as potential hate crimes. Mr. Tarrio then said on social media and in an interview with The Washington Post that he had burned the Black Lives Matter flag from the Asbury United Methodist Church, one of the oldest Black churches in Washington, and that he would plead guilty to destruction of property if he were faced with a criminal charge.

“Let me make this simple,” he said. “I did it.”

Portland has some catching up to do.

You know those dog whistles don’t work the opposite way. Historic Black church damn near jumped off the page and bit me. They wanted to you to think that he had desecrated the historic black church and for those who only ever skim for confirmation bias? That’s what they’ll get.

And he can’t expect decency. He left the plantation. He’s now tap dancing, a coon, an Uncle Tom, an Uncle Ruckus, a self hater, etc. The hive mind doesn’t appreciate independent thought.

We didn’t like the Antifa and BLM riots with looting and property descruction so in like manner we also can’t condone proud boys doing the same thing. Regardless of the item(s) destroyed, we can’t condone it.

I don't agree with the idea in general. A crime is a crime.
