Where are my upvotes gone?

I normally post because it is something close to my heart. I don't even care about upvotes. TBH I cherish one sincere upvote more than many insincere ones.
However I am only human and sometimes [rarely] I get these mega upvotes where there is a little blue + sign with more numbers and I feel a bit happy about that because hey, I feel I hit something others agree with.
Now I wanted to find the post again, but I can't. It was about vaccines no doubt. I looked through all of the recent ones and all my upvotes seem to have gone back to low/normal upvotes, one mildly above normal but with no extra [which I think might be the one that had +18 or so].
The post has definitely not been taken down.
Is there a downvote button somewhere I am not familiar with?
Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't want to go all conspiracy about this but I am miffed. Is it bad to have too many upvotes? Because that's what it feels like. Jeez just take it out and be done with it, instead of making me feel crazy and take my few moments of positivity away.

Collecting stars is literally the sole purpose of ats. There's a secret prize once you reach 1 million. Just like pokemon, you gotta catch 'em all.

Thanks to all of you who didn't read that every now and then everyone likes to see when they've done something better than usually? No?
I really don't give a toss about stars, have had many taken off as a punishment and to be honest I don't even know my stats. Never look at it.
But come on...+48 or whatever is something I wanted to see again.

Anyone who says they wouldn't be happy about that are liars.

I did too. But I wasn't hanging out on this thread after the one person found the thread and I just skimmed through. Soz, here are more internet things to make you happy in the new year! [No sarcasm BTW, I always sound like this]. Oh and Chihuahuas are my favourite dogs!
