So you don't care that the socialists, former democrats, included giving billions of dollars to other countries for things that have nothing to do with COVID-19, and despite the fact that 40+ million Americans are without a job because of the lock-downs and tens of thousands of U.S. small businesses are forever closed?... You don't care that the socialists, former democrat, leaders only wanted to give $600 per American meanwhile they demand more lockdowns while the socialist leaders keep getting paid like no other American is getting paid and while every socialist leader has been caught ignoring the same rules they keep demanding every American must follow including inside their own homes?...

One of the most interesting consequences of this election is the way that "conservatives" suddenly started to care about other people.

Nothing says "conservative" like government handouts to struggling families.

Say no to state socialism!

I won't presume to speak for everyone (I'm not a democrat) but as for myself, I have always cared about others. But like most sensible people I have priorities too. I care if my neighbors children are hungry, but I will not give them food off my table if it means my own children go hungry. When my children have had what they need, not necessarily all they want, but at least what they need, my neighbor is welcome to the rest. Hell, I will take it to his house and feed his children myself. But I will not make my own children go hungry to feed his. Then instead of helping solve the problem of a home with hungry children in it, I have created two homes with hungry children. That is the difference between republican solutions and democrat solutions to problems like this.

Suddenly?...You have no idea of what you talk about. Conservatives do care about others, which is why we hate socialism, communism and fascism all branches of socialism which aim at destroying the individual "for the good of all."

The difference between a conservative and a socialist of any branch in socialism, including communism and fascism, is that conservatives give what we can give without asking, or "demanding" anything in return. But you socialists, communists, fascists all demand for people to give all of themselves but you want to be the exception to your own rule.

What an asinine statement.

Government imposes lockdowns, government shuts down the economy over all and won't let people work. Literally everyone agrees that people need to be compensated for this.

Yet you accuse conservatives of otherwise "not caring."

The most asinine part of your statement is your conflation of government actions with "caring."

If you ever wondered how we get a nanny state, you just drew quite the example. Thanks.

I thought that most people on this site were opposed to handouts?

Maybe UBI isn't such a horrible idea, eh?

UBI is a bad idea... What we should do is open up the whole country, but your socialist leaders don't want to do that despite the fact that they are ignoring every mandate they demand we must follow...

Unless people start protesting en mass your socialist leaders will turn the U.S. into Venezuela, or Cuba...

The communist regime of Cuba has for years sent money and food to other parts of the world "to help spread communism" meanwhile the people in Cuba go hungry or even starve if they don't have family outside Cuba and are not part of the communist elite...

What we need is to open up the country and put in prison every socialist ahole leader, Pelosi, Schummer, Swalwell, Maxine Waters, Feinstein, Schiff, and the socialist mayors and governors whom has ignored their own mandates meanwhile demanding we all follow those mandates meanwhile the U.S. economy goes into a nose dive...

Regular Americans have been imprisoned, or been heavily fined for ignoring COVID-19 lockdowns... So every socialist ahole in the new socialist party of America that have been caught ignoring these same mandates must be put in prison and must be heavily fined.

Socialist, former democrat, leaders are destroying the U.S. and it's economy and are forcing 40+ million Americans into poverty, and these socialist aholes want more, and more millions of Americans to become poor so they can implement their socialist nightmare so many of you have been cheering for... and then those like you want to blame President Trump for what your socialist leaders are doing...

So you are for UBI is if keeps people from becoming homeless?

I believe that we deserve much more than $600.

It’s all relative to the individual, $600 dollars could very well be the difference for a variability of things depending on a persons socioeconomic standing. Not taking into consideration that everyone views “good living” the way you do, who are you to make that statement?

Look around this thread. Who's conflating government action with caring? Who's conflating free money with economic stimulus? Conservatives with "conservatives"? Irony with a literal statement?

And what's worse? A nanny state with "cradle to grave" safety nets or the current creaking system of "conservatism"?

I believe that's a royalty payment based on oil production. So it's actually funded by something other than tax payers.

Everyone loves the concept of UBI until the check comes and everyone starts looking around the table to see who's going to pay it. A better analogy may actually be, let's go out to eat and we'll figure out how to pay for it after the meal started.

Cradle to grave nanny state isn't preferable to the mythical system you refer to.

The "conservative system" would be to let people go back to work.

Yeah but according to Yang, this would come from Tech industries, not regular taxes, unless I got it wrong.
