Well, its still not looking good here folks.

COVID-19 in Japan

The U.S. Embassy and consulates continue to monitor closely COVID-19 conditions in Japan. Case numbers continue to rise throughout the country. Several areas, including Tokyo, are posting record or near-record numbers daily. Prefectural and local governments indicate that healthcare capacity, including critical care bed space and medical personnel staffing, is becoming strained. On December 17, Tokyo Governor Koike raised Tokyo’s health care alert system to its highest level for the first time since ending the state of emergency in May, indicating that the government task force believes hospitals could soon be overwhelmed. According to press reports, the Tokyo government is concerned that as many as 80 percent of the city’s hospitals and clinics will close during the New Year period, which will further constrain health care capacity.

The national government and many prefectural governments have begun announcing new COVID-19 mitigation measures. The national government announced that the “Go To Travel” campaign will be suspended from December 28 through January 11. Governor Koike continues to urge residents to minimize outings and reconsider traveling during the New Year period.

The U.S. Embassy strongly urges U.S. citizens throughout Japan to monitor changes to prefectural government alerts, especially when considering travel across prefectures. U.S. citizens should continue to follow all measures introduced by Japanese national and local government officials to mitigate COVID-19 outbreaks in their areas.

The situation is really bad for us that have family in the States. We just can't come back to Japan unless we are a Japanese national and it currently doesn't matter if our spouse is Japanese. There might be some leeway, but it will be really risky if you land at Narita and immigrations send you back on the next plane. There is no guarantee that they''' let you re-enter Japan. Its really tough right now.

Yep! We can see up to 300 at the check out counter around 11 am on a Monday and Tuesday.

Unless there are no beds...and docs, nurses, specialists....all calling off...from Covid...and who...you? Takes care of all those beds with them full...and NO MEDICAL PERSONEL because they are sick?

We will all get this corona virus and I think that is why the vaccine was rushed. Japan has a head start kind of the future . What I mean by that is we were about 45 days ahead of America with results from the virus.
If you study our pattern of growth, you'll understand we weren't testing ( still are not ) that many people. Got to have a doctor referral to get tested here. Our death rates seem to be pretty honest. Just less then 3000 since this all begin.
Not sure why so many have died from other countries though.
In my sense of wft is going on, well, I just think this virus grows into something different every 4 months in the air. Do I think the current vaccines will be good enough for the changes... by trial and error we might succeed in the future, but the current vaccines might be like the wind, good and bad.

When you address things happening there...it's cool to learn.

I watched the movie "Contagion" early this morning. Try to watch
that and not get a creepy feeling. Almost like they filmed the future
a couple of years back. The genius of making a movie before an event
in history. Instead of after the event IMO can not go unchecked. Regarding
the esoteric cabal and elitist use of sorcery in film?. It's significance is
unmatched in exposition.

I think Contagion is a great movie and I don't see it as "predicative programming" but just a rational extrapolation of what has long been overdue.

If you recall, the disease was far more deadly and widespread in that movie than corona. The niceties of grocery stores and drug stores, etc., crashed a lot harder and more brutally than anything we've seen with the 'rona, although the basic civilizational framework was maintained.

Books like "The Hot Zone" laid out the whole progression in the 1990s; COVID has followed a milder arc at what was widely being called overdue almost 30 years ago if not earlier.

If you don't mind me asking what state? Arent the healthcare workers getting the vaccine first? Yes we are in the transition phase but eventually, it will catch up

Georgia's cases are up, but hospitalizations for COVID aren't off the charts nor are the deaths. Looks just like there are a few clusters of areas something a country dealing with this for 9 months should have been readfy for. I believe Georgia still has 2000 beds setup at the GWCC if there is an overflow last I heard it was only used a few dozen times throughout this whole ordeal. It was used so infrequently early on they sent 1000 beds to the southern region of Georgia just in case.

The southeast which has been lax on restrictions isn't getting slammed as hard as other areas with hospitalizations.

I'm coming outta retirement into...last notice..I.C.S. command System...and wherever the hell they need help. I'm qualified for a lot...

But look. Flu or Virus or ...whatever. Fill the beds, get staff sick, more contagion, more sick, more beds, less or min staff...what don't people get? And with this...folks are dying.

A lot of sick, filled hospitals with staff getting sick...I don't care with what.

I copy and post since it was a direct Email to me from the US Embassy. I do think the Email is different then the actual link that has been given. Those of us in Japan that get our emails from the Embassy actually may differ from their websit.

Anyway, did get a slap on the wrist for it. Innocent mistake. Next time I'll go to the govt. site and post the link and any difference that are sent to residents of Japan.

As stated these are private emails to residents of Japan. They do differ from what is posted on the govt. sites. So yes, It was copied from my email. A lot more info is on it.

You can take this for what it's worth.

Plans are in place in the US and across the world when it reaches the point of triage.

Only the ones with the greatest chance to live will be treated.

Out of necessity.
