PPP was just another bank bailout/wealth transfer to the very rich.

Megachurches abusing the PPP is the topic.

Megachurches or Walmart abusing the PPP, its all the same. Its a waste of breath to single out one big organization vs another... unless ones goal is to attack churchs rather than the problems with PPP.

Big scarry churches exist
... ok whats the next topic

Who mentioned separation of church and state first. I never mentioned separation of church and state.

I just pointed out how was this different than any nonprofit embezzling.

How is stating that some churches abused the PPP "attacking" them?

Is it factual or not? If it's factual is not an attack.

The topic is clear ... I guess if you're not interested don't read or post?

I'm unsure what your beef is here.

Walmart didn't qualify for PPP loans so they couldn't have been abusing them.

Who approved these PPP loans?

Up to one million didn't require oversight, just that you got your application in on time for the money we are throwing out the window.

Oh, so it was done like the unemployment was in California? Typical government. So easy to be generous with someone else's money.

No, this guy tried to obtain them for himself, not for Walmart.

Which is why I was against all of this from the beginning.

Framing an issue that includes many different types organization as if it is a problem with only one type organization does not appear to me to be anything other than an attack on that type of organization and they people who frequent them. I really can't fathom another explanation for the segregation.

I have no beef here; I do apologize if I gave that impression. I stated my opinion of the topic in my original reply and have been answering to further replies that have been directed at me.

I am interested in the topic; which is why I replied. Again my reply paraphrased:

"Its a waste of time to focus on one type of organization that abused PPP when it is our elected officials who are to blame"

I read the article; he would not have gotten as far as he did if he was a bag boy at Walmart rather than an executive.

Yeah? So only a Walmart executive can open a fictitious LLC?

It had nothing to do with Walmart and 100% owing to him being a lying scumbag.

Yawn! When the State of California is held accountable for the fraud and misuse of it's stimulus money come back and talk to me.

With the way that States have shutdown churches and the people employed by them, there should be no problem here. When you have specific information on violations again come back and see me.

While anyone can open an LLC; its cheap online ...

Not everyone has the needed connections at big banks. The primary fault in the PPP.

The whole point of the PPP fraud is you didn't need a connection, you just needed to apply and this guy did it using fake LLC's. Try reading your source.

The topic is Megachurches defauding the PPP.

It's right there in the title.

Why would you join such a discussion and think that we aren't talking about dishonest megachurches?

I submit that any valid critique of churches is unacceptable to you. The topic wasn't PPP Fraud and we all jumped on the megachurches because we find the idea repulsive, dishonest, uncharitable, etc.

Megachurch fraud IS the topic.

Most people who needed PPP couldn't get it because they did not have good connections at banks. The primary failure of PPP.

On what basis would you submit that any valid critique of churches is unacceptable to me? I am in fact an atheist; valid critisums of churches being in part why I am atheist.

PPP abuse just isn't a valid reason to single out and critique churches over. It is an insufficient and unremarkable part of a larger issue.

I work purchasing. I still cannot get N-95 dust masks with VALVES that do nothing to stop the spread of COVID-19 unless I pay the price gouging cost on Amazon. Normal suppliers like Grainger will not open then up for purchasing even though I work at a plant that silica dust is a real concern.
