At this point can you people ever really afford to have a congress, or keep these people on the payroll?

Never mind rhetorical question. Well you get what you pay for. Like George Carlin said, garbage in, garbage out. Even Plato some few odd thousands of years ago said that democracy just may be the worst form of government ever invented.

He was wrong off-course. Long after he kicked the bucket, people kept coming up with even worse forms of government. Case in point. The crap that is today's dilemma. All the might of the modern world and its mega structures and cities and high speed information at the tip of your fingers, literally all the worlds information at beck and whim.

And all brought low by a fake virus and spam on the TV.
Garbage in, garbage out.

LOL, massive fail.

Two months ago DT Nancy refused to negotiate.

You're getting the responses you deserve. I'm glad nobody forgot.

Did you?

This is so true both sides could give a # less about the struggles of the lower and middle classes. The likely reason is the refusal to back this is because somebody didn't scratch his back on some pork belly bill for his constituents some time back. 600-1200 don't really make a difference, especially if they continue to lockdown and restrict. Hell even if they stop all restrictions now the damage has been done to so many industries.

If we are looking at another 4-5 month stretch, there will be a serious need for monthly assistance and/or debt mortgage and rent forgiveness. This is why so many on here never wanted to go down the lockdown road, hell I was wrong I thought to give them 4-6 weeks and we will be back in business. Now the government needs to do something to turn this crap around and all they are talking about is a "dark winter" well guess what it's been a damn dark spring, summer and fall already for millions.

When you look at the fund's other countries give for their citizens it's obscene compared to the US. LOL and dammit half of those we probably send money to every year.

Most recent figures from 2016

US Sent

Canada 865,000,000

UK 754,000,000

France 2,186,000,000

Germany 2,559,000,000

doesn't include the tabs From Mexico, China, and India which are off the charts

total sent worldwide 135 Billion dollars, that's fricking crazy in one year.

A pittance for sure. The last I heard they were talking about six hundred dollars.

That is barely a month of groceries for the average family of four.

Why even bother with the ruse?

The #? Is that per person, or per the entire household, total? Because if it's the latter, holy #, that's insensitive as hell, who can run even a single-child two-parent family along on 600 bucks for more than a week after the cluster# this entire year has been on just the most BASIC finances (housing & utilities)??

Who gets the shaft when Biden takes away the $1.5 Trillion "tax cut for the rich"?

Certainly not the rich.

Think "Trickle Down".

Aides talked President Trump out of demanding $2,000 stimulus checks last night.

Would have blown up the negotiations: news.yahoo.com...

Oh man do you need a few courses on economics.
And if you want I will for free give ya a few others?
And if ya want I can give ya Trumps Trump card if ya haven't figured that crap out yet?!

WTF are you talking about? I posted a news article. And the article was not written by me.

I got 3 for the price of one.

Bought $1200 worth of Bitcoin that's now worth $3600.

Amazing after months people waiting on the government to 'save' them.

From a problem THEY, and jackass govenors CREATED.

First off, it wasn’t a proposal from the dems or pelosi. It was a proposal from another gop representative that they do a unanimous vote to provide the stimulus. Secondly, we don’t have decades of increased tax policy. We have decades of tax breaks and decreases on the wealthy, which directly and obviously becomes decades of increased debt....to those very people who got the tax breaks. Because that’s how that works. The wealthy elite get a tax break, the deficit increases by that amount, the government then borrows that money back from the wealthy in the form of bonds and pays them interest for it.

Keeping in mind that about every single other western industrialized nation has been paying all their people monthly wages other than us.

Also keeping in mind that the fed has subsidized the wealthy elites profits to the tune of 8 trillion they’ve dumped into the market.

If they tax the rich they raise prices and the consumer pays for the loss. No ifs ands or butts about that. Or they may just pack up and leave the country dragging their billions with them which is what I would do if I was rich and Biden's gang was out to take away my stuff. Democrats have this thing about going retroactive too, they want to back tax. I have seen that happen with things they passed in the past, usually only one year back or so maximum so far.

I can't believe that people are so blind they cannot see that the consumer always pays, and since the products imported are being imported by the rich, they will just raise prices on all the products to the retailers and wholesalers. They all add a percentage on and prices do go up way more.

Trickle down economics is real and anyone who says it isn't is an idiot or is paid to gather evidence that is not real. The consumer always pays for everything, every tax every worker pays while working on sales or delivery is part of the cost of the product.

I appreciate your groveling and subservience to the whims of the oligarchs. It’s weak government policy that allows them to have the freedom to exploit as much as they want, dodge paying the social costs of their market model, and leave if they aren’t kowtowed and placated. These freedoms of theirs could all be taken away with laws. But so long as you protect their right to unconstrained graft and profit, they will continue in their pattern of price fixing and wage fixing. The very policies you support are the ones which make this path unsustainable, and destroy the American social mobility.

Implanted fear of a highly survivable virus.

Democrat political agendas

A large section of the population that needs the government to tell them what to do

All reasons we are where we are

I love listening to the mask nazis tell me how good masks are for us.

Conformity is required

Very few people wanted the lockdown. I doubt anyone wanted to abandon their businesses, and it did not take long for mom and pop businesses to see the handwriting on the wall. There was no room in the inn for them from the very begining.

If people believed the government was protecting them, and cared about them, I think the majority of the believers have awakened from that lie.

The issue is where do we go from here? It is not like it was in the past, where family was within a days walk from each other, and the majority of us lived off the land, and could grow and barter our way through the winter.

Few people are expecting the government to rescue them. Most people know our government is corrupt, and have no interest in rescuing us. The problem is not what we know, it is what we don't know.

For several decades we have been groomed to be greedy, selfish, and entitled. There was a reason that community was important. I don't care how independent, well armed, or clever you are, you can't go it alone.

You have to sleep, you have to eliminate your waste, and you can't be in two places at the same time. Without community you won't last long.

So we are going to have to be more proactive and we have to work together.

What idiocy., 'Trickle Down' has been excoriated by every major economist since it was first uttered. In fact, it was Will Rogers (comedian) that first used it to lambast Hoover during the Depression. Not only is it NOT real, it makes things worse:

One of many, many sources

It's simply a justification (unfounded) to give to the 1% at the expense of the majority. You lot will believe anything in your echo chamber deluxe. Idiots.

After the motion for the $1200 stimulus check that would have helped renters continue to meet their obligations was vetoed the Republicans countered with demands to limit the Fed financial stimulation in the latest bill session.

slate.com...

Both types of stimulation would help with economic recovery however the stock market made new highs this week and the banks are in great shape, Chase stock jumped 5% in value the last trading session.

The struggle for many folks not protected by the Federal Reserve policy by stark contrast is becoming critical!
Renters for example are struggling, with 29% of black renters behind on their rent and facing an end to the moratorium on evictions. This has a trickle up effect for landlords with mortgages many of whom have already exhausted their first 180 day forbearance period for non payment of mortgages.

Might be somehistory of Central bank vs military control worth reading?

Not suprising. The mega-corporations win again. And people won't get angry because their sell-out media tells them that it will trickle down to them.

I don't understand why the pitchforks are not coming out against a lot of these politicians.
How can they sleep safely at night?

There are people out of woirk for months, months behind on rent, untilities, bills.

And the government big plan is to give everyone 600.00 dollars.

This is what I warned about and this is why I tell government to suck my ass.

Yep
We are at the point where I actually cheer at the thought of a nuclear bomb going off in DC.

Funny how socialism is demonized so much in America but is a privilege of the ultra-wealthy.

Who coincidentally I’m sure spend a lot of money funding things that demonize it for regular people.

Huh.

We get trillion dollar handouts to wall street and you get crickets.
Zero outrage from the fiscally "responsible"

A lower class gets a $600 check and we get 30 page threads all over the internet full of outrage.
Its absolutely disgusting.

Human nature is the problem. We like to think the majority of people are good. It's not true unfortunately. The majority of people simply haven't been in a position to rape their countrymen and be certain they will get away with it. Overwhelmingly, just look at Omar, pelosi, or AOC and the millions they have funneled in tax funded legislation to members of their immediate families but show outrage about the idea of that in general. That false secure feeling belief has perpetuated and along with the Enlightenment's bringing unquestionable value to every human life it has all made man the spineless sissy of the animal kingdom grabbing our ankles and smiling as we invite KNOWN bad people to have at it and we don't even make them give a courtesy spit before commencing. The French Revolution actually changed the system and why!? Because they recognized these people and their families and progeny and networks were beyond hope and void of decency or value of life so they invented a way to dispatch their souls to hell as easily as raising the blinds and we will only survive this if patriots literally push by police, drag 75+% of the people on the hill outside with social media giants and string em up or 'off with their heads' them. And they DOOOO deserve it and nothing short of it which is all we'd do if we actually tried to make change. But of course we don't even try. My rectum hurts like hell tho... how are your anu...anii....anuses so resilient!?!?

One wonders why Americans vote for the republicans who ALWAYS screw the little man, the poor, and the middle class.

And always when they're in power somthing catastrophic occurs, such as under Bush in 2008 and now Trump in 2020.

The American people are very dense and vote against their own interests.

Especially with 3% unemployment and tax relief. Those 2 things are very bad for everybody.

Good thing the new Administration will never ever do that to anybody 😃

Look, all I want to see is those now in long food lines get help.

This should be beyond politics.

Those Senators and congressmen are nowhere near a food line trying to feed their kids with can food or whatever they can get.

None of them will lose sleep over a small business going down or having to pay their rent.

We go to the streets over political wrangling, the people of all political stripes should hit the streets and force these stupid politicians to do what's right.
